Everything else about this movie was OK and can lead to a lot of speculation and discussion but unfortunately I think it failed because the "Doctor" was so characterless and lacking in personality and charisma that the whole idea of Iris falling in love with him is totally unconvincing. It really needed someone else in the role,

I was just wondering if you're male or female and what your age is. This might sound creepy but I'm a girl around Iris' age (not sure if it actually mentions her age in the film but I'm just guessing) with a similar sort of shy personality and I can see how it happened. I think it's just because she was a lonely young girl and he was an older guy willing to be affectionate towards her. I'm sure in happens quite a lot in the real world :)

Before he gives her the red heels he asks her age, and Iris replies that she is 21. Olga herself would have actually been 25 when this was filmed.
