lasted so long it seemed sarcastic. Just my two cents.

There was a fish...in the percolater.

Just saw the movie again and yep, I agree the length of it was pretty strange, seemed almost surreal. I don't know why they chose to make it last so long... Perhaps to enphasize the complete despair and loneliness of Jodie Foster's character at that point, with all the passengers really being "against" her, not wanting to stop clapping... Dunno. It was a weird scene.

Hehe, thanks =) Yeah, far too few people out there know about Twin Peaks. That's too bad. Most brilliant work of fiction I've seen in my entire life.

I caught that line too =) Loved the expression on the faces of Sheriff Truman and Federal Bureau of Investigation Special Agent Dale Cooper when he said that. BTW that's 18 syllables in Cooper's official introduction. Took some serious talent on Kyle Maclachlan's part to say that!

Completely awkward. I agree, and more absurd that she would have not been tackled after she walked out of an exploding plane. Just sayin ;)

To me this movie is a parody of all thrillers that take place on the airplane.
Broken woman(check)
annoying teenagers/children (check)
old woman in some form (check)
child playing some kind of role to extend time of movie (check)
evil man who wants to take advantage of woman (check)
highlight of stereotypes (check)
flight attendants that don't really pay attention to their passengers (check)
