In 1984, WFIE, the NBC affiliate in Evansville, Indiana, decided that they were going to broadcast all of the available games for the Indianapolis Colts, going away from their strategy of showing the best AFC game. This decision was so disastrous from a ratings and reception standpoint that it lasted one season before WFIE changed its mind and reversed course. This is the story behind the 1984 broadcast decision that did not work out at all.
