Zathura IZ better..

reply

yeah jumhura

reply

i like both but Zathura rocks with the special effects plus its all monkeys anyway

reply

for me its like apples and oranges....theyre both fruit but with different tastes

zathura is definitely for a younger crowd, and the sheer quality of the movie made it more enjoyable to watch
jumanji is lots of fun with more interesting events ( i love when the house was an overgrown jungle)

jumanji felt kinda long while zathura felt kind of short...i like them both

dont write off zathura because its newer and dont write off jumanji because its older

***too bad i love you just doesnt work anymore***

Jumanji is a staple of my childhood so i'll always pick it over Zathura althought it was ok too.

If you lose a son it is possible to get another, but there is only one Maltese Falcon.

Zathura is horrible and unfunny. Jumanji is a classic.

reply

I liked them both but I liked Zathura more because it was based in outer space.

reply

well if you think about it there both books writen by the same person and if any one reads the books the kids meet each other in the end of jumanji peter and judy see danny and walter take home the jumanji game and peter and judy say"i wonder how thay will do since thay cnt read" and in zathura book thay find the game nxt to the jumaniji game so you cnt compair them.

The biggest problem with Zathura is that they are in the house the entire time with the exception of Danny boarding the Zorgon ship for five minutes. For that reason it's harder to believe that they wouldn't just sit there, take their turns and end the friggin game. In Jumanji they were forced to leave the house because Sarah had to take her turn and the game got taken away from them several times. Zathura should have been a 30-minute movie because they should have been able to zip right through the game.

Jumanji.
Psh.

Jumanji. I thought the plot was developed better, and Robin Williams is awesome. Zathura has some funny lines, but the setting is better in Jumanji and it is just a better movie in general.

Wow, most people here are idiots. They both had their own ups and downs and it's interesting to know what your opinions were, but saying stuff like "Zathura is crap' or "Jumanji was *beep* and trying to make us change our minds about it is just retarded.

I don't know.

reply

I enjoyed both in different ways, so I'm not going to choose one or the other. They were both cool/scary adventures with kids who were sometimes annoying and an older person who was stuck in the game helping them out...among other things. I like both the same.

Jumanji!

Goodness. I just watched this movie and I am so annoyed by it, I have to post it here. Perhaps it is a generational thing, but the characters in Zathura were so annoying to me. I was sick of the movie within the first 30 minutes.

I don't know if I need to put spoiler warnings, but I will anyway ... *SPOILER WARNING*************************

It took too long for them to introduce the astronaut character. For too much of the film, it just had one brother take his turn after the other, complete with the obnoxious fighting. If it weren't for the others who were watching the film with me, I would have fast forwareded through much of it. Walter is the moodiest 4th grader ever (is 4th grade the new 7th grade?). I thought that kids got to that "cool" stage at 12 and 13? Ugh. I like Jumanji better because the story was introduced earlier in the film. Here, there seemed like no point except for them to continue the game. But, both brothers annoyed me. I couldn't stand Danny's whiny voice (sorry to the kid actor). I may have zoned out during this part of the film, but can someone tell me again why when the second wish card came, the character didn't wish that the game didn't exist/they could go home/for the game to end/for no one to have ever played it/etc?

IDK I was born between '92 and '94 and I like both,I can't pickbetween them because their both great movies, but I perfer Jumanji because it had more running and screaming, and the acting talents. The cast in Jumanji reminded me of the main cast of jurassic park with the 2 kids and the 2 adults, and thats one of the main reasons why I like it,because it wasn't just a kid movie. But Zathura was good in the special effects. Those zorgans were pretty cool. But in Jumanji the scene with the stampande and the lttle boy in the car getting trampled is one of my favorite movie moments.Don't forget though that Zathura and Jumanji are two different games.Jumanji,is an african based game, and Zathura is a space game.I'll admit though I thought it would've been cool if the astronot was the boy from Jumanji insted of you-know-who all grown up.

As much as i love Jumanji, I think Zathura walks all over it. Its a much better film technically and the performances are better by a long shot! A fantastic adventure!
