I HATE PEOPLE WHO COMPARE MOVIES

Several remakes have been compared to the original:The Ring, The Grudge, My Sassy Girl, and even during post production of the movie, people would immediately criticize how lame it would be to remake a good movie and blame how it would turn out as not as expected. It has always been the same situation of foreign to Hollywood films. Remakes are also good and a way of refashioning it to different cultures. Don't always think remakes are less worthy of acclaim..

you cannot help to compare them,because the storyline and even the trivial things are made the same.different story if hollywood attempted to add fresh things in the remake,but they didnt.so yes,we cant help but to compare. btw,try watching the original version. swear to god,u will love it and repulse this oNE.

And I hate people that can't take critic about copy's, Don't copy so we won't have to compare any more. Problem solved.

but sometimes a copy is better, it's rare but it happens if I look to Vanilla Sky or Mirrors. Lucky all rights are not to sell yet, so movies like Battle Royale are safe for a while...

Okay, I will agree with you on Vanilla Sky... and it's not that it's better per se' it's just that I prefer the Dramatic/sad approach over the Thriller Suspense aproach with the original.

However, Mirrors??? Really? Please tell me you're kidding me? You are referring to the original Into the Mirror which was remade into Mirrors, right?

Sorry, but I don't see how in any way it was better or surpassed the original. I like Mr. 24 taking on the role that he did, but he honestly didn't act it much differently than his Jack B. in 24. Plus, the storyline was by far weak, by far.... Then ending was so ambigious while the original actually made sense. Further, the villain or 'ghost' in the original and her story was far more compelling and its final fate made more sense... as with the remake it was reduced to a moronic cliched that felt like it was taken from Darkness falls.

On the other hand, US remakes are always worse than the original, no matter where that comes from. The only way they are "better" is that they cater to a stupid audience.

They literally stole the whole plot of the movie. This movie is trash compared to the original.

What about the many countries all over the world which consume Hollywood film tirelessly with very rarely any desire nor need to remake or homogenize them?

The feelings mutual I hate people like you so anal and self righteous. Get this you self centered ego maniac. NOT everyone has the same likes or dislikes but you are in the minority as anyone with an ounce of intelligence can see that remakes are terrible and its fact not one remake was ever better than the original.

A remake is just taking someone elses ideas and adding or subtracting things. Where is the talent in that? Its why Hollywood is in the toilet nowadays all they do is remake after remake and yes even remakes of remakes its ludicrous. And its why my hubby and I only watch either pre mid 90's films or mainly foreign and independent films. Face it US films,music and most media are all no talent crap. Now its is just for the money.

All the actors look like clones that you can't even tell em apart these days all the songs are the same be it rock, pop or whatever and same goes for the rest of the US media industry no original material and everything is just flat out boring. And most of all if its a remake of course everyone is gonna compare em silly. Sigh...The internet strikes again. Where do you people come from. Seriously leave the cave and get out once and a while you online hermits.
