Snow in texas?

It snows in texas? Kinda surprised me... any texans wanna verify this?

reply

It snowed just north of San Antonio in Feb 2003 when I was there.

That was a bit unusual, but it happens.

I know from co-workers that it also snows north of Dallas.

Hey now, it snowed like 2 inches a couple of months ago here in Austin. Well sure, it was a freak accident and I think it was the first time it happened in like 9 years(mostly we just get ice) but still....On a more serious note, I just started watching this movie, so I don't know where it's supposed to be based, but in northern Texas it gets pretty cold in the winter and I don't think snow is that uncommon.

They talk and talk about individual freedom. They see a free individual, it's gonna scare 'em.

your right, it's not uncommon in NORTH texas but it like never snows in west Texas (I lived there till I was six and visit alot)and with their accents I think they were from west texas because most other Texas ( north texas and such) don't have accents like that. It bothered me through the entire movie.

i know this is late but im from west texas and they dont talk with and accent

Yeah... accents in North Texas are laughed at (as someone who lives in Northeast Dallas)... and we may get snow but NEVER that much. Ever. Never even half as much. It's pathetic excuse for snow, really. It looks like we flew it in and threw it around to fake a Christmas.

reply

It snows, but never a lot. I've never seen this movie, so I don't know how much snow was on the ground, but I love in North Texas, about an hour away from Oklahoma, and we usually get about 3 inches a year. Actually, it's not real snow. It's mainly a mixture of snow and ice (mostly ice). It's not the fluffy snow you see in mainstream movies, and places up north.

reply

Northeast Dallas isn't really... north north Texas.

reply

this is a late response, but their accents aren't even real. they just "made up" the accents for the movie.

i live in texas and yes it does snow here.

reply

I live in Northeast Texas and it doesnt really snow. More of a sleet/snow/ice mix- and plus it doesnt stick so it doesnt last. and yes. I have an accent too.

reply

North Texas?

You guys couldn't be from Texas.

I lived in Amarillo(the West Texas panhandle) for a year and it by far gets the highly percentage of snow per year.

Obviously never been in Texas in the Winter.

There is always something every winter, usually sleet. It snowed a bit up here in the DFW area in early December. But last Christmas Eve 2004 it snowed as far south as Brownsville (tip of texas man). I know, I was there. It snowed like 3 inches. Which is a big thing in Texas, not to mention in Brownsville where it hadn't snowed in over a century.
