Better than The Descent

How does this have 4.9 stars, where as The Descent has 7.3!

Can someone please explain?

no way is this better than the descent.

I have yet to watch the Cave but probably going to watch today.

That said, I agree the Descent was HORRIBLY overrated. I'd give it an IMDB 5 at best.

Just saw this tonight, no WAY it is better then the Descent. I feel like it lost me and I had to try hard not to turn it off and just out on another movie or just go rub one off. I kept watching it though. The ending also sucked. 5/10 for me

The Descent has:
-better directing
-better cinematography
-better writing
-better characters
-better editing
-better effects
-better villains
-much better scares
-more memorable

The Cave has:
-better music
-I suppose some characters are alright
-There is one shot in the beginning that is very good and creative.

The Cave mostly suffers from a horrible script. The dialog is bland and it takes an hour for anything to happen. The entire time, we as an audience are anticipating the transformation of this main character in a giant monster, but it never happens. Instead, we see a bunch of nonsense nobody cares about. I want to know how a bunch of Romanians tranformed into giant winged monsters that don't resemble humans in the slightest. Instead, we see all the things nobody cares about.

I enjoyed both films, very much, but, of course, THE DESCENT is far-better-acted, and with a much deeper script, but THE CAVE just "looks better", and had a lot more money put into the making of the film, which is obvious to anyone.

Each serves a different purpose in satisfying the viewer, but they are both really good "monster" movies, in their own ways.
