It looks like alot of girls like this film. It also looks like they lose all sence of logic and taste when the see a "hunk"(Beowulf actor) of some kind. And that is why I think we(most of us) guys see through the bad scrip, bad acting, bad directing and unrealistic fight scenes. Self dependent women: "Bring it on!"

yup..... I bet alot of girls liked fight club because of Pitt. I also liked fightclub because of Pitt....and Norton, the philosophy, the great acting and the awesome ideas they had. Sorry that you missed out on it girls........ And that was just one of the examples, there are thousands of others. The only times guys are blinded are when watching porn, and to be honest, there are worse things than missing out on the plot in porno movies, hehe.

My point is... Movies with hot babes bouncing around are very often bad films(barbed wire etc). Films with hot males are another story...... But it is nice to know that some women agree with me.

Gerald Butler is a good actor, and you can't blame the cast when a script is not fully developed.
When did it become such a crime for an acotr to be handsome ?
No matter how good looking an acotr is.. if the acting stinks there is no way I'm going to allow myself or someone else to pony up the funds for the tickets.
There are a lot of guys who support the Jackass films and now that is a waste of good money.

I am a chick but that has nothing to do with weather or not I like this movie. I mostly only like "guy" movies and an actor's good looks (or lack thereof) never has anything to do with weather or not I like a movie.
That said, I liked this film. It was much closer to the epic poem than all the other Beowulf movies out there. However, I think they made a huge mistake in casting Gerard Butler as Beowulf. If you've read the poem and you know a little of Anglo-Saxon culture, you'll know that Beowulf should be about 18 or 20, he could be as young as 16 and that wouldn't be stretching things at all. Gerard Butler is mush older than that, he's probably old enough to be Beowulf's Grandfather.
There were a lot of things that bugged me about this film and I just thought it was really funny that you mentioned one of them as a reason why girls like it.

I liked it because the other version, the Christopher Lambert one, is just too terrible to consider. I didn't like this one as much as I liked The 13th Warrior, but it was a decent treatment. I am now interested to see what this new one is going to be like.
