What other Movies, set in Africa, would you recommend?

Was just wondering about other movies set in Africa. Are there others you can recommend? Others not set in Rwanda perhaps (i seem to have seen the majority already). Thanks.

I've always loved movies about other far away countries and about their problems and there are indeed a lot of movies about that, I will try to remember some;

1. Romero;
2. Babel;
3. Cidade de deus (another genre, set in Braziliƫ, about the streetkids; USAtitel: City of God;
4. Tsotsi (a little bit the same as 3, but I thought this one was a bit better;
5. The Constant Gardner;
6. The Road to Guantanamo (from Michael Winterbottom, who makes a lot of good movies about
injustice, but it's always another subject and country, but very realistic and mostly based on
the truth as he sees it, sometimes almost like a documentary, very interesting;
7. Cry Freedom (about a journalist that tries to make people aware in the States by trying to help
activist Steven Biko against apartheid, but he got tortured to death by his guards but the
journalist escaped and told the world about the torture, murder, apartheid, poverty, corruption
and such in the South Africa long before Mandela got released and became president;

Their not all from Africa, but certainly worth watching, but the one I really liked, I can't remember the title, but it was about a journalist that stayed in the Filipines(?), Chili to be exact, where the politician and husband from writer Isabella Allende was murdered when he came back to his country, where he was told to be save from prosecution. He ended up being assasenated, by the army on the command of some high people, incl. the Capt. of the army and probebly the dictator that was in power then, Marcos, his wife was also a terrible woman, she wanted to impress the high officials and even stars from Hollywood, that she had a building built for a party, incl. cinema, theatre etc. in a too shorter time, by poor underfed people and ended up collapsing, but instead of stopping, she orders them to rebuild, even while a lot of bodies are still laying under the debree(?), but it was finished on the night of the invitations where a lot of American socialites and politicians were guests. But she is most famous for her shoes, she had so many shoes, they had a special room for it and even now, her hubby got shot after his capture, she lives in a small home, but her attic is still full with shoes, but she says she always walkes on het slippers and I believe her, but that only confirms that people like that want things, just for having it.
But anyway, the story is about that journalist that tries to make a case against Marcus and his goons and even his wife, but the paper he works for, is loosing there patience, but he knows that if he stays, he will become a part of some cruel piece of history, but the ending of a dictatorship can be very dangerous and he has to watch out, but he won't give up until the murder is solved and marcus and his wife get what they deserve. It's Australian or British, and it was a miniserie on tv in the beginning of the 90's, I think, so good luck finding that title, but the movie is sure worth it.

You posin' for pictures? Or you gonna pull the trigger? (Crime Story)

Wow... as of today, no one has mentioned
"The Power of One"

it's set during the second world war and the beginning of Apartheid.

Steven Dorff, Morgan Freeman and Daniel Craig star in it(first big film role, as a bad guy)

It's not a very happy movie but it's meaningful and Oh My God! The scenery and the MUSIC are BEAUTIFUL!!
