One of cage's best performances?

Top three Cage performances that I liked till date, in no particular order:
Lord of War, Leaving Las Vegas, Face/Off.

reply

Adaptation is his best performance.
Lord of War and Leaving Las Vegas are both up there too but Adaptation for the win.

reply

Certainly his best perf of the last decade. Though it seems the role was tailormade for him.

The role he had in Lord of War wasn't too difficult or complex.

I'd say:
Bringing out the dead
Adaptation
Leaving Las Vegas
The Weather Man

I think those are the only good films he's been in. He's a very good actor but he doesn't get to work with a good director often, nor on a good project. In that respect he's sort of like Viggo Mortensen, Ralph Fiennes, Cillian Murphy, Adrien Brody or from the older actors Stephen Rea.

I've unintentionally seen nearly all cages films, and for me his best acting is in LLV

reply

Yes, I think his performance in Lord of War is one of his best, but among a lot of other great performances he offered. For me, his very best performances are in Leaving Las Vegas, Bringing Out The Dead, Wild at Heart, Face/Off, 8mm, Adaptation, Matchstick Men, The Weather Man, Bad Lieutenant - Port of Call New Orleans and Joe.

I think leaving las vegas is his best role followed by lord of war. Face/off and con air are good too.
