Very disturbing scene + comment (Spoiler)

I don't think it was a joke about sterility, I think it shows the joke was about Beau getting kicked in the balls. I can't see Beau telling everyone about his sterility problem.

The dad knew what he was saying was a kick in the nuts [no pun intended] to the man who slept with his wife and her mom. I thought Beau would carry that back on his way home and wished he never did what he did which was horrible to all involved. Even though the film never says it. The funny thing is he never knew it was the man who he lost his gal to whom injured him. It was weird how after he was told this it had no effect on him so i assume as i said he will think of it on the way home.

In movies it's always a joke when a guy gets kicked in the nuts, even when it results in permanent injury, like in this movie. If the sex was reversed, and a woman got kicked in the abdomen, permanently injuring her uterus and resulting in sterility, it could only be tragic, never funny.
