Who did you enjoy most the acting of Stella Bonasera (Melina) of Jo Danville (Sela)?
Though I'm a big Sela Ward fan, she's a good movie actress, but I enjoyed Stella's character most. She was tough but caring, she would get on Mac's level and challenge at times though he was her boss.
I prefer sela(jo) Stella got on my nerves and was too over the top at times for me. Seemed fake and give true bleeding hearts a bad rap
shareStella. I loved her character. I hate Jo, I find her too irritating, the way she's always up in other people's business and her lines were just too cheesy sometimes. I kept hoping she'd leave after season 7 but with no luck 😞

shareStella all the way, it is a shame she didnt get a mention from mac in the final of season 8, but like to think that she left new York, cause she and mac got romantically involved and couldnt work together anymore and where she had their son Aiden Mckenna boyd jr the 3rd.
they both have their own strengths and flaws, but I still prefer Stella...Jo is a little bit too nosy and cocky for my liking, but I don't dislike her either.
shareOk, I'll have to retract what I said...I've been re-watching CSI:NY lately and my opinions about Jo and Stella have changed slightly. I used to prefer Stella, but now re-watching the last few seasons, I'm gradually liking Jo more. I had forgotten how cold Stella was in the first season, and even though her character gradually improved ad mellowed further into the show, but Jo's compassion is starting to seem more genuine to me. Of course Jo still has her annoying moments, I still think she can be a bit too nosy sometimes, but Stella still has her own flaws too. And lately I am finding Jo more interesting than Stella was.
So yeah, my choice has since been changed to Jo.

Definitely, Jo. I never warmed to the character of Stella, I thought she was disrespectful of Mac at times and a little to strong willed for me. She ignored him too many times when he told her she was off the case or to take a step back. Especially, the case regarding the Greek coins. I think Jo's experience came in handy for the team and she was more personable to every character. She warmed to Adam and I loved their interaction together. She had a sense of humor that was missing from Stella. Both women are beautiful and good actresses but I prefer Sela. Multiple Emmy wins and loved her in everything from The Fugitive, Emerald Point N.A.S., to Sisters to Nothing in Common with Jackie Gleason and Tom Hanks and of course House MD. She's my preference.
