Is Hotel Rwanda a True contemporary Representation of Africa?

or does this film represent Rwanda and hence Africa as a continent full of rogue states?
Africa has traditionally been "othered" by the western media (Africa has been shown to be different, orientalised by the western world). Most representations of Africa by the western media since the 19th century have been produced based on assumptions rather than reality. Does this film reinforce traditional "othering" notions or is it a true representation of Africa?

They should have made a sequel - Hotel Congo. Shortly after the events depicted here (which seem to suggest a moral revolution has taken over Rwanda by the end of the film with the bad guys and genocide defeated) Rwanda sent many guerrillas and terrorists into Congo to steal Tantalum minerals - as many as six million died in the Second Congo War. The Rwandan Tutsis are supported by the Western corporations in this venture who purchased the tantalum ore stolen from Congo from these groups and the Rwandan Govt.

It's still pretty much still like that today. Westerners of course do not give a damn about human rights in Africa, if you hear of Western troops entering Africa you will know it's not about helping people - but minerals oil etc.

Africa is such a big continent that there is no way that one country can be used to represent it.

US education. We aren't taught the differences between the countries in Africa, we are taught to pick a country and do a report. Imagine someone from France backing out of a trip to someplace like St Paul, MN, because of the Mexican drug cartels shooting people up close to the Texas border?
