I just saw this movie today and i was amazed the movie is great I love Lucy Liu in this movie but one thing i still don't understand is the low rating this movie has on this website I mean wtf.
This should get at least a 6.5 or more, and i noticed that all horror movies have low ratings over here what's up with that?
Well, however good or bad a movie really is, constitutes only one factor in my system of rating: I will more often that not evaluate it according to my current state of boredom, which is usually very high.
In this case, Lucy Liu in the buff deserves a solid ten (someone as beautiful as her should probably not even bother to get dressed). Throw in a few well-handled scenes like the waking up in the morgue (Paula Schultz, anyone?) and I'll even pretend it's a good movie.
Maybe because it was boring and to me it just felt like a cheap TV movie from Sci-Fi channel. I only saw the longer Director's Cut and could not wait to turn it off. I love Lucy Liu also, but I just thought this movie was very bad. Maybe the 30+ minute shorter version is better, but I really don't want to try it.

I agree with this rating because this movie is halfway entertaining... It tries to take an original direction in vampire mythology but forgot to develop an interesting story. I gave it a 4 because I was able to completely watch the whole movie maybe I just enjoyed looking at Lucy Liu but if you want to check out a great and original vampire movie please try “Let the Right one in” or "Thirst".

Yeah, I agree. I think most of the IMDb community members who vote only watch the big budget Hollywood blockbuster films that are nothing but popcorn and soda and silliness. A real, bonafide horror thriller like Rise:Blood Hunter" just is not on the radar.
Lucy Liu was awesome in this and I have a whole new respect for what she can accomplish as an actress. I sure wish this movie had gotten more exposure and helped her career more.

I agree, she was awesome in here. Most of IMDb voters just vote like this because it's a low budget horror flick.

Although at the end of the day it does come down to personal taste. Sometimes you can watch a movie and love it, but you look at the rating on imdb and are shocked (like in this case).
It can dampen the mood and feel of a movie you have watched. Especially ones you grew up with, but sometimes you have to get past the rating and know that you yourself enjoyed it, which is what's most important.
