this movie was made when i was a sophomore in high school and i don't remember them playing porn at any of the parties. is it just me or my school? it was actually amusing how obbessed with porn the guys were. they were like 13 year old boys, acting all cool because they looked at porn. i just didnt get it. maybe it's because im a girl? either way, no one in my high school had porn playing all over the tv's at parties. if i went to a party and everyone was sitting around watching porn, everyone, including i, be more than a little freaked out. am i alone on this or did anyone else think the porn use was a little out of a control and more than a little unrealistic?

I found the pornography viewing quite realistic. I think any high school is a world of it's own with very segregated groups. While many of those groups will share your thoughts that this doesn't actually happen, there are the few groups that know it does. I belonged to one of those groups which partaked in quite a bit of pornography. At 12 I was getting together with the boys of the neighbourhood to watch whatever porno they stole from their dad's hidden collection. A little later I was going to older guys' homes and watching whatever porno they had on either as a bit of foreplay I suppose, or as background entertainment at a party. Then I was hosting my own parties with the porno on the big screen. My girlfriends and I would skriek in horror at the massive cocks, and the guys would kid that they were just as big. I remember one particular older guy who was infamous for his very large Internet porn collection, you named it and he had it. People would go to his house with the sole intent of checking out his collection. Porno was definitely a staple at the high school parties I went to.

FYI: I was in high school from 1999-2002

I wonder if the guy mentioned in your post was the guy with 100 GBs of porn that some guy was asking around for on an IRC channel. (A member of the channel said that about 10 GBs was enough.)

I haven't seen the whole movie, but if the "party" you're talking about was just the Hannah, Nick, the other boy and girl, well, that's not really a party. And in that setting (basically a hook-up), I could definitely believe that porn would be part of it.

I know I went to one party in highschool where, as a joke, a couple of guys turned the tv on to a scrambled porn channel for a few minutes, but that's about it.

I never saw any porn at any party per se, but when I was a teen, my two best friends and I ( we're all girls) would spend the night at each others house and my one friend had porn channnels bc of premium cable. We would watch them together just to laugh at it..What's even funnier is this was when I was about 15 or so, and I didnt have oral sex, or regular sex til I was 23 (I'm 25 now) and have only been with one guy ( the one I've been seeing almost 2 years)...so needless to say this behavior is weird to me, I had no desire to have sex at that age, sure I liked boys and might have wondered what it was like, but nothing like this

Yeah the porn/orgy scene was so weird. Admittedly I'm getting old now and have been out of high school for a few years, but was in it when this was made, and everybody would have been far too embarrassed to do that!

Some clubs have softcore porn playing on tv screens...its crazy. Not sure about house parties ...maybe for older teens

that scene is totally realistic. i used to go to parties where porn was played on the big screen in my room while i was having a threesome with 2 sexy a$$ bi girls. while we were having sex, we were watchin porn at the same time so the girls could learn different techniques and do the same moves to me that the pornstars were doing. man i had one girl on ma knob and the other girl on ma rear end at the same damn time. it was f'n hot and intense

I am older, 23 now, but when I was 14-15 there were plenty of guys obsessed with porn. But they would watch it alone or with a few buddies, not streaming on several screens at parties. That seemed a bit far fetched.
