Lowest Point in De Niro's Career
...or will it be topped by an even worse movie?
shareSeriously, I defy you to name a decent DeNiro picture other than Midnight Run, and, no, Casino, Raging Bull, Taxi Driver (omg, the worst), but you see the oddity is that these are all Scorcese pictures, ah, yes, the King of Comedy, too, and, if you haven't caught my drift, I defy anyone to contend that Scorcese can make a decent movie. My evidence is Gangs of New York, and the above freak shows.
Oh yeah, by the way, while the Departed stinks, it's at least watchable due to DiCaprio, and, as for Shutter Island, that movie is just abyssmal. Abyssmal.
Please tell me I'm wrong, but name a decent flick with DeNiro. I'll be waiting a long, long time. Oh yeah, how about that one with Cuba Gooding, Men of Honor, or what about, Cape Fear. Holy crap, the man's movies are just plain unwatchable.
And, by the way, Godfather also is pretty much a non-factor, being that I've never seen it, or any of them, and don't care too. Don't get me wrong I've probably seen the entire films, although I'm pretty sure never the third one, but never in one sitting. And, to top it off, the Deer Hunter, was never a good film.
P.S. My definition of a good film is that it's entertaining, informative and can be watched more than once. Only Midnight Run qualifies, and, truth be told, I tried to watch it again recently, and it didn't it for me, but I used to love it, so there I concede DeNiro was good in that one film. Good fellas, meh.
Okay, see there you go, Bronx Tale was quite good, so now DeNiro has made two decent flicks. Well, whooop-e-dee-doo.
Casino, Raging Bull, and Taxi Driver are all fantastic films, and I can certainly re-watch them.
Anyone, I'll rattle off a decent a title you didn't mention. Angel Heart.
