he can't not be funny. it's just how he delivers his lines. like when he tells reese, "that was weird" about her trying to kiss him. there's just something unique about him. i almost forgot about 'stranger than fiction' which i also liked him in quite a bit. i don't think i could ever buy him as a flat out dramatic actor.

Oh yes, agreed. I like Zooey, but I wouldn't have watched this just for her. WF was the stand out, IMO.

I strongly disagree with the OP, im a huge fan of will ferrell and he was awful and unfunny in this. This is by far one of his worst roles..he needs to stick to straight comedy

I thought he showed great acting depth in this film. Made a refreshing change from the shouty and in-your-face (albeit humourous) characters he generally portrays.
