Which scene did you cry the most at???

I love this movie with a strong passion and everytime I watch it I choke up at the scene when Melinda shows Mr. Freeman all the tree artwork shes worked on over the course of the year. It just makes me happy and sad at the sametime especially when Mr. Freeman starts to tear up. Anyone else feel like this whenever they watch a certain scene in Speak??

I started to cry when she showed the art teacher her works and he almost cried. I don't know why, but pretty much every time I see a male crying, I start, too. And another part was at the end when she sticks her head out of the car window and then tells her mom.

I've just begun re-watching it for the first time in a few months, and I started crying before the film even started. On the DVD, the menu with the music in the background, the tree growing, the letters unjumbling to form words, and the flashback sounding quotes from the film...I just broke down. Basically, I cried about every 5 minutes.

Then my housemate came in drunk with her mate and boyfriend, and they took over the living room, which is where the region free DVD player is, so I had to stop watching right before Melinda picks "tree" out of the globe. I'm so depressed right now, because it's the kind of film that once you start, you just have to finish. It's like a journey you have to take, and if you cut out too early, it can really hurt you.

I agree with you, just watching this again on DVD the title menu like you said with the tree and the music. I just let it repeat over and over and over. Just sitting there feeling the emotions of Melinda. going to watch it again, just because i feel like it's one of those movies you have to "experience" not just watch.

I didn't cry during any of it, but seeing Steve Zahn pull off an indredible roll was awesome. He almost got me misty eyed when he realized the impact he had on Melinda when she was showing him her trees.

I teared up during a whole bunch of parts in this movie, Soo many parts I just wanted to give her a big hug sooo bad and tell her that everything is going to be okay. She is a wonderful and adorable young actress.

learning_to_speak is absolutely right -- the dvd menu in itself it enough to make me teary eyed. for those of you who don't have the dvd, it's basically this green background with this tree that like unfolds and this really beautiful music (the same music that plays when she's looking at the trees after riding her bike/the scream flashback, as well as when mr. freeman sees her art at the end) and then there are various quotes in voiceover. it's just very moving.

aside from that, i have to say that the scene that gets me the most is DEFINITELY the christmas scene. i can't believe how few people have mentioned it! she looks SO happy and touched when she opens the paint set and when they tell her that -- shocker -- they actually *noticed* something she was doing. and then you can see on her face how she is like struggling to tell them, and then has the flashback of coming home to the empty house before just closing the box of pastels and deciding to stay quiet. it's so subtle but it's very powerful!

I couldn't agree with you more.

I just watched this movie a couple hours ago and I didn't cry at all during the movie but I can't stop crying now whenever I think about it. It was extremely heart-breaking and horrible! Kristen's acting was amazingg!!

i didn't cry in the film at all, but for me the most ardent moment was when Rachel realised that Melinda was right about Andy. just after he had called her bitch in the car

The rape, the ending and the scene where the teacher says her work is scary. My poor baby. :'(
