Wow so much hate.

This movie gets so much hate on here and possibly other places. (Ok this post will be trolled by the haters.)

Come on the special effects are good.
The actors seemed right for the characters.
Maybe the plot could have just been different.

I agree with you. I thought this movie was adorable considering one or two things...

1: I would have preferred more 'bewitched' scenes [them filming the show].
2: longer in general.

3: not using the song 'every little thing she does is magic' during the credits. it sounded like it fit [the lyrics] but to me the beat didn't fit.

OH THANK YOU GOD! THANK YOU SO BLOODY MUCH!!! Basil Fawlty

I agree. And the worst thing is that people don realize how original this movie is when everyone would have trashed Nora ephron if she had dared made an actual remake and they don't realize how respectful and a great homage to te show this really is. It's not perfect and it's now great but it does not deserve the hate.

The plot wasn't the problem though, I don't see anyone complaining about that around here. It's the actual material within that framing device that is lame and insulting to the viewer. The jokes just aren't funny and fall flat 100% of the time. The acting is so hammy that it becomes annoying and downright distracting. Everyone from the main characters on down to the bit parts were so excruciatingly unbearable that it's difficult to even finish the movie once, much less give it a repeated view.

I kept waiting for funny stuff to happen, and it never did...

The movie was cursed by Nora Ephron, who apparently saw "Being John Malkovich" and thought she could pull that off.

If there was a remake today, I think Patricia Clarkson would be a decent Endora.
