Bewitched Movie Needs to be Redone!

This version was an atrocity to the original series. Granted that the creators of this movie took risky and creative action, but turned out to be a disaster. I would have preferred if they had stuck to the premise of the original. I would have like to have seen the Kravitzs and the Tates in the Movie. The casting was great, however, they missed the mark casting Will Ferrel as Darrin. I found Farrel's rendition annoying, Jim Carrey would have been a better choice. I also thought the magic special effects was pretty lame. All in all, a new Bewitched movie should be made that wil lto justice to the original and let's forget about this version!

I read that originally this was going to be a remake of the show. Samantha Stevens, Darren, Endora, etc. all there. It was just going to be updated to modern times. Then someone came up with this 'funny' idea of someone trying to 'remake' Bewitched and what if a real witch was cast and that's how we ended up with this thing.

If they had only stuck with that original idea...

And yes, cast someone other than Will Ferrel in the role.

Man they should re-boot it from beginning. I agree & think that myself, that Jim Carrey would b a perfect Darrin. Don't make a movie about making a movie/TV series... make an actual movie version of Bewitched

I agree,,,,best thing was uncle arthur and aunt clara! I thought Clare and her husband from modern family would have been good as sam and darrin.....but,they're getting too old now.

I'm with you, the Will Ferrel killed this movie for me. Otherwise, I thought it was quite cute and really enjoyed Nicole Kidman as "Samantha". I detested Ferrel so much that I haven't ever gone back to watch it a second time, even though I have considered it often. I don't know why anyone thinks he is funny or that he can act.

"MacGyver" and "12 Monkeys" creators Travis Fickett and Terry Matalas are writing the script based on the '60s sitcom

Sony Pictures is in early development on a new movie take on the ’60s sitcom “Bewitched” that starred Elizabeth Montgomery.

The new “Bewitched” movie will be written by Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett, who are the creators behind the series “MacGyver” and “12 Monkeys.”

John Davis and John Fox (“Dolemite is My Name,” “Game Night”) are developing the film that’s based on the original sitcom series.

Deadline first reported the news.
