Watched Again Last Night

The drive-in theater down the street showed this last night, and I figured what the hell and went to see it. I remember enjoying it when it came out, but over time it's faded a bit from memory, and I rarely think of it as one of the better MCU films. And while it isn't overall as good as some of the best MCU films, it certainly holds up well to the test of time. Kudos to Marvel for being able to take a superhero barely anyone had heard of and turning him into a superstar, and the highest-grossing comic book character in the history of film. Spider-Man will no doubt reclaim that title when his next film comes out, but who would ever have believed that Iron Man had the potential to be such a star?

IRON MAN WAS A FAVORITE OF MINE IN THE EARLY 90S...I ENJOYED THE REGULAR MAN WEARING A SUIT OF POWER THEME...I NEVER WOULD HAVE GUESSED IT WOULD BE MADE INTO A MOVIE..LET ALONE IT WOULE BE GOOD AND LAUNCH A TEN YEAR FRANCHISE WHERE IRON MAN IS NUMBER ONE.

Here's a graphic that charts the comic book characters whose films have earned the most in the history of film.

No one 15 years ago would have believed Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and Black Panther would rank above Batman and Superman on a list like that, but that's a testimony to the quality of the MCU films.
