This received the same rating as The Dark Knight? Seriously?
There was nothing in this movie that was more violent/intense/whatever than the original Indiana Jones movies.

Probably not gonna get a PG rating for a movie where a guy gets viciously eaten by fire ants.
Raiders and Temple only got PG ratings because PG-13 didn't exist yet. Last Crusade is PG-13.
I'm not sure how much it matters. You don't have to be 13 to get into a PG-13 movie, so it's not like it kept kids from being able to see it.
Though considering we are talking about Crystal Skull, it's not as if skipping this film is a bad thing.
