David is 83. I am sad to see him go. He was fantastic in his role

If this WAS his last show, I could see them mentioning him occasionally by saying that he's on an extended vacation, maybe because he had a lot of time stockpiled and was ordered to take it or he'd lose it. I definitely don't want his character to be killed off, even off-screen.
I had read online that McCallum is leaving at the end of this current season so we shall still have Ducky for a few more episodes. Ill be sad to see him go though, the show won't be the same. I don't think this was his final episode, it was just a Ducky-centric episode ... one that could possibly be part of a final arc for his character as Mallard prepares for retirement.
