Anybody had a neighbor that almost drove you bonkers?

Hey, I just watched this movie last night on Movie Central and couldn't get over how closely it resembled a situation I've been in once while living in an apartment building. The guy who lived above me would walk around all night, every night. The loud sounds of the ceiling creaking constantly robbed me of a lot of rest. I complained to management, but they never did anything. Man, was I ever relieved when the guy moved out. But my 'neighbors from hell' situation didn't end there. A middle-aged man and his teenaged girlfriend moved below me and they played loud music all the time. I complained to management and they told them to 'keep it down'. Well, because I complained, I became targeted for a lot of harassment by that teenage girl and her friends. They threw a condom balloon on my balcony and would throw stuff at my bedroom window. Man, what rotten luck in having neighbors like those.

I can't get away from the upstairs noise no matter where I've lived.
1st Apt building in new city-An HVAC on roof that sounded like a jet engine that the mgmt didn't seem to think was a big deal.
2nd Apt- The person must have had a home gym and worked out at all times of the night.
3rd Apt- Why do people treat their homes like kids at a playground? You want to stomp around and move furniture at all times of the day and night, go find a 24 hour gym or something. Why are people so sadistic whenever they have to live over someone? What goes through their warped minds that makes them think everyone needs to hear their loud noise all the time? There are apartment/loft buildings that are Non-Smoking Only. Why can't there be Quiet Buildings too? The world is a loud place so why can't people get some peace when they're at home?
