Most irritating film ever made...

I sat through this tonight and I have never been so goddamn irritated by anything in my whole life.

First, a whole precinct of cops and none of them can get a head shot on the suspects?

Second, why didn't they get a sniper in there to take them both out??? The whole time I couldn't believe they just didn't get a sniper in there and bang, take them both out and everyone goes home.

Third, why did the S.W.A.T. guys take so long to get there? They're like "when your family is in trouble, you get there and help", they got there, and did *beep* all. Went into the bank, which was clear, then shot the remaining suspect who was 10 metres away from them in the street. HOW'D THEY LET THE SUSPECT GET THAT FAR INTO THE STREET IN THE FIRST PLACE?

Are there any real reasons as to why that stuff did or didn't happen? Mainly the point about the sniper, was there some reason as to why they couldn't get one or that one wasn't able to shoot them or SOMETHING?! I'm really having a hard time trying to comprehend it.

Accurate or not, this movie was GRIPPING and AWESOME all in all...

44 minutes FLY BY....These officers did a KICK ASS job while running completely on adrenaline.

Hindsight is always 20/20 REMEMBER........

reply

its ridiculous
1) why didnt they throw granades
2) what happend to the snipers?
3) why didn't the officers shoot them on the legs and feet
4) what were the criminals thinking by shooting coming out in the open and start firing....?? get a bloody hostage, use him to get out, itll take only a few minutes opposed to the 44 minutes

there are endless ways to kill 2 people with body armour
1) use a car and run them down, of course with bullet proff glass
2) shoot them on the parts not covered by the armour
3) throw a grenade
4) use laughing gas, or sleeping gas or any other bloody toxic gas
5) snipe them
6) use a bloody flashbang
7) call the swat team
8) get a machine gun, its LA there must be a police station nearby, and shoot
9) use a gun that tears through armour
10) use explosives
and so many more...the movies just crap with so many plot holes

You're kinda stupid aren't you.
1) "Grenades" it was in LA not in Irak. Police officers don't have grenades stupid!
2) SWAT was stuck in traffic.
3) They did shoot them in the arms and legs. They were high on drugs didn't go down. Usually a bullet knocks the air out of you when it hits the vest and it hurts like hell. They didn't mind the bullets, they were flying higher than a kite.
4) see no. 3.

The amazing "ways to take down people in body armour written in dumb-speak by moron moronovici"
1) Except Mexico who the hell rides around in bullet proof cars in LA.
2) see above no. 3 moron (stop repeating yourself)
3) see above no. 1 (does your brain hurt when you're thinking. My guess is yes)
4) "Laughing gas" - they weren't at the dentist moron, sleeping gas?!? wtf is that? Any other gas? They were outside where gas does nothing. They have to be inside for ANY gas to work (See russian east-west theatre hostage situation).
5) They were moving. Even if the SWAT wasn't stuck in traffic a sniper has to take position to aim. But being as your brain couldn't handle actually thinking or logic i'm gonna say that SWAT was stuck in traffic for umteenth time.
6) They were stuck in traffic too. WITH THE SWAT TEAM. You imagine that cops ride around with the whole friggin' armory around.
7) They did. Man, you're crap.
8) Did that too. The guy was too late. BTW not every police station has automatic colts lying around.
9) Geesh, see no. 8, no. 7 and stop repeating yourself.
10) Ummmm, say what? You mean like dynamite? C-4? AMRAAM missiles? Seeming as there's a pattern here I'm gonna assume you mean grenades again. See above no. ... you know what, no. You're just too dumb to understand.

Finally, to wrap up your gargantuan moronic post, the movie is almost word for word the true story of the 1997 bank robbery. So "plot holes" is a term that does not belong here. It's just what happened. Speaking of things that don't belong here, I find that a moron like you has no place on this planet and yet here you are. I am offended to share the same world with you, hell the same universe.

But on a happier note, I agree with you, the movie WAS crap. Not because of the stupid crap you blurted but because it was badly shot, special effects were crap (the bullet holes in those cars i could have sworn were made by RPG's and not with AK's, which i have seen pass through any made man material, including flesh), also as with every real life crysis movie it's making a profit from a tragedy like crappy flight 93 (ooooh let's make money off dead people). Too bad of the few actors that actually raised the quality of the movie from full blown *beep* to just crap.

Monday morning quarter-backing is easy. So is strategizing when one has never been in a combat situation with live rounds and perps who have nothing to lose along with a sense of invulnerability. When armed only with handguns, it is virtually impossible to get a bead on a moving target from the distance they had to retreat without getting killed, as several officer nearly were trying to do just that. Especially after they realized the perps were in full body armor.

You also apparently are not aware that trained and experienced personnel do not just rush headlong into a situation and start shooting. That may work in movies and video games, but it is sheer idiocy in real life. They need to get intelligence on everything that is happening and devise a plan BEFORE charging in. You almost come off like the perp's mom, who tried to sue the city because her felon of an evil child died bleeding in the street. Yeah, rescue personnel should go rushing in to save him without ANY idea WHATSOEVER what was going on with the situation around them.

You really need to peel yourself away from the monitor and ask someone to logic things out for you and then explain them in primary terms since you're obviously incapable of doing it for yourself.

You seem to have a lot of common sense. It's possible the general public doesn't share your ability to reason things out as well as you and I hope you are able to gently assist others in the future.

That's just ignorant, you get irritated at a film that shows everything correctly for the most part. That's a moronic response.

Get upset at the LAPD if you don't like their actions, not the film, dummy.

Everybody is great at telling the cops how things should be handled after the event, but nobody except the cops is willing to put themselves in danger to actually do something about it.

i thought that they had some sort of shield for their heads? maybe I'm just misremembering.

Kinda surprised that they didn't take a shot to the head even accidently.

I think the subject is really interesting. But the movie wasn't made that well. I think with a better director, it could be great.

In Tawian, the police had four shootouts with a gang of four professional criminals who specializes in kidnapping people of wealthly business people and hold them for ransom. One of those shootouts lasted for about an hour, 1,000 cops were involved, the gang escape, and it occurred in 2004. I was surprised that no swat team had shown up and you think the cops would have automtic weapons since that country was heavily militarized due to being under martial law until 1991. Furthermore, many of those cops were ex-soldiers and would be proficient in their use of firearms since every Tawianese citizen has to do a tour of duty in the military (in other words, the draft).

Ppl already said this probably but you were under fire from two ppl with automatic weapons (with what appeared to be extra large ammo clips), you would tend to keep your head down.
According to wiki they had armour piercing rounds as well...
I never fired a handgun but ppl say they suck at long ranges/accuracy as do shotguns.
+ perhaps lack of training to deal with this kind of heavy firepower situation...

I enjoyed this film, the real event is crazy, so many good points raised all ready, head shots with what they had are nearly impossable as this obviously proved. Also for those who go on about there being just two men against 300 cops, well in ww1 many times for example machine gun positions managed to keep thousands of men pinned down, and though yes they had cover and were dug in and the terrain was not good to attack in with barb wire etc, the fact is men with heavy machine guns can fire hundreds of rounds per minute and nothing could get past, if they had tried to rush them, im sure many cops would have been killed.
