I like the original cast of New Tricks that lasted Series 1 Episode 1 to Series 9 episode 1

Alun Armstrong as Brian Lane
James Bolam as Jack Halford
Amanda Redman as Sandra Pullman
Dennis Waterman as Gerry Standing

To be honest i think it survived after Jack left, i liked Series 9 with Brian, Sandra, Gerry and Denis Lawson as Steve was a good replacement to Jack.

But after Brian left halfway through Series 10 that was it for me. Brian i think was the best and the most intelligent.

I liked New Tricks from the Pilot (2003) to Series 10 (2013)

The Lanes' daughter has my favourite character name from this show: ELAINE LANE! She never appeared onscreen and was soon dropped altogether.

After 80 episodes of one show Alun Armstrong may have thought he was becoming typecast.

This is terribly upsetting. I've been binge watching the show for weeks. I am only to series 8 episode 7. I don't do well with change, especially knowing Brian leaves. He's my favorite. But thank you for the heads up. Truly. Not sarcasm. I don't like surprises either. I would have been devastated.

Well if you didn't know you can watch all the repeats on Drama weeknights at 10 pm. For a fan it doesn't get much better.

shouldn't have been cancelled,it was still far better entertainment than rubbish like EastEnders that bbc allow to keep droning on week after week ,year after year.itv are as bad.coronation street should have been axed 20 years ago.total drivel.

I love this series, and yes it was sad when Brian left as well as the others. But the show goes on with new members and they are good too.
