Things that bothered me

I like this movie, but there are some things that really bother me:
1. In the beginning, Dixon kept talking in English with Viktor even being aware that he couldn't understand a word. No translators in one of the biggest airports in the USA?
2. No other Krakozhian arrived in the country around those days so that the USA authorities would find a way to deal with their situation? Yet there seems to be a direct flight between the two countries.
3. Dixon spot the group of Asians that wanted to enter illegally as tourists because they were not holding cameras? Come on?! Tourists should arrive in a foreign country holding their cameras already in immigration? As far as I remember it's even forbidden.
4. Krakozhia doesn't have a capital or is it called Krakozhia too? The flight pannel had names of destiny cities and Krakozhia was simply Krakozhia!
5. Viktor didn't bother to exchange some of his money before travelling? At least for some first expenses like a taxi or a meal?
6. Amelia's friend gave her an emergency visa for Viktor but didn't care to get a proper signature.
7. When Viktor tries to get Dixon's signature, he threatens to harm his 3 friends from the airport. Then Gupta decides to give up his freedom and helps delay Viktor's flight so that he could go to NY and Viktor decides to go then. What about the other two? Dixon would probably punish Viktor by having them both fired.
8. I f you want to take medicine out of the country all you have to say to authorities is that it's for an animal? Then no prescription is required. Easy like that? And if Dixon thought that Viktor was lying in the translation, why didn't he wait for an authorized translator to arrive and clear things up?
9. Dixon's suggestion for Viktor to request asylum sounded very reasonable. He would be able to leave the airport since the process was very long and then could simply give up the request. Why didn't Viktor aceept that and kept giving stupid answers?
10. No way a passenger would be able to access the construction area in the terminal specially after 911. Those areas in airports are completely off limits to passengers.

This movie has a ton of inexplicable plot holes, as you point out.

Dixon was a detestable character. I hope no one like him is actually running an airport!

I agree with most of the things you pointed out.

About number 9, however, I guess they were trying to show Viktor as a man of principle, a patriot that would never desert his homeland, not even during a civil war.

1. They usually have 100+ translators on hold at the airport every day, just in case they need them, but Krakozhian guy was sick that day.
