Were those "basterds" ultimately HEROES?

Or even, or rather for that matter, ANTI-HEROES? Based on what they did and how?

And let's not forget, one of the men on their side, Hugo Stieglitz (spelling?) played by Til Schweiger, was apparently himself a former Nazi. Correct?

And some of the deeds of those men may be questionable too. But still...

Outright good guy heroes? Or flawed and mostly anti-heroes? Cheers.
