Question about that theatre scene towards the end.

SPOILER -

When the whole screened apparently burned down and surely the speakers must have been damaged among other things, at one point, that laughing Jewish woman's face can still be seen through that projector and the sound of laughter still heard. Is that a goof? Or even symbolic? Or even SUPERNATURAL?

Or was it entirely REALISTIC? Even if perhaps a little exaggerated for dramatic purposes?
