Other guilty pleasure movies..

I consider this to be a guilty pleasure movie; a flick that you know has all kinds of problems, you wouldn't put it in a list of your favorite movies, but you still love to watch inspite of it's failings..

Some of my others would be...

Roadhouse
Red Dawn
Point Break

(inspite of the coincedence, i really do not have a Patrick Swayze or Keanu Reeves fetish...it really is just a coincedence).

Interesting topic! I have a few as well but Constantine would not be part of them;

1.Get Carter (the remake with Stallone, not the original)

I thought the movie still took a lot of bashing that is not entirely deserved, as for me, it is much better than movies in the Fast and Furious franchise or the Transformers movies, for instance. I enjoyed seeing Stallone as a badass quasi-bad guy for a change and I though he was effective. Plus, I had a blast seeing the scenes between him and Mickey Rourke, and I have to say that the emotional relationship between Stallone and his niece, well played by Rachel Leigh Cook, made me connect to them as characters.

2.Commando

A fine example of a pure macho and over-the-top action movie, Commando will always remains a personal favourite from Schwarzenneger for me, as a couple of other 80's action movies that I grew up with and saw with my dad numerous times. Something I have always like from Arnold though is that he tends not to take himself too seriously and that he can be genuinely funny as an action movie actor. Commando might be seen as extremely ludicrous, silly and poorly scripted, and I guess it might be all that, but I still have a blast every time I saw it, and I think I watch it every year at least.

3. The Last Boy Scout

Even the late Tony Scott (bless his soul) apparently was not too pleased with the result, as there was inteference from the studio and from Bruce Willis in terms of the script. Nevertheless, I can't help but like the tone, which is tongue in cheek but quite not politically correct, the fast paced action scenes, the exchanges between Bruce Willis and Damon Wayans and the dynamic directing by Scott.

4.Bloodsport

As corny and poorly scripted and outdated as some might find this movie, it will always hold a special place for me, as it is one of the first adult action movies that I remember seeing with my dad, and that it was inspirational for me when I was a kid. And naturally, it was the first Van Damme movie I ever saw, and it is still one of my favourite from him. Why do I still like it beside what I mentioned before? Because I still like the fight scenes, I like the character of Frank Dux, I like Van Damme's performance (no, it is not a joke) and I think Bolo Yeung was quite effective as the main vilain (I still find him a bit scary in the movie).

5. The Hitman (1991)
No, I am not referring to the live adaptation of the game, but rather to the Chuck Norris movie where he wears a "badass" mullet and kills people with very bloody results with his little sawed-off shotgun. Most people would probably say the movie is simplistic and formulaic ans corny and a lot of other negative qualifications surely, but damn, I still think Norris is badass in this film and I kind of like the story. Plus, you got Michael Parks doing a vilain and doing it very well if you ask me. I must have seen this movie a dozen times at least, and again my dad showed it to me when I was young and it is probably the first Chuck Norris movie I saw (and probably still my favorite, even though his best one is probably Code of Silence frankly).

Bill Foster: I'm the bad guy?...How did that happen?

As others have said, "The Chronicles of Riddick." (Whatever the story lacks is more than made up for by the art direction for the Necromongers, which is superb.) And "2012"; if I catch it at any point on TV, I must watch it through to the end.

Batman Forever and the Star Wars Prequels.
