Am I the only one thinking it's a good movie???

Just saw this movie last night on tv, and I enjoyed it a lot... I think Paul Bettany is great in it... He's very very funny! I was quite disappointed with all the "I drink beers, and spend my time sleeping during the tournament" stuff, but the tennis moments looked nice to me!
The romance was nice too, even if sometimes I thought something was missing!!
But I'll buy the DVD now!!!

Does anybody here thinks it's a nice movie???

I'm surprised it has such a high rating actually--not better than 7, but over 6--I was just quite surprised. I remember liking it when I watched it and eventually bought the DVD but I haven't seen it in a very long time. I don't remember it being anything special, just a typical romantic comedy--entertaining, sufficient, but nothing great. Perhaps I will have to watch this again.

I was also really surprised to look at the voting breakdown and see that the number of male votes outnumbers female voters by about 4,000. Very interesting...

This is actually my favorite comedy. Call me crazy, but I really love everything about this movie, I think it`s completely underrated. I don`t think people get it.

Nice break from the perfect boy meets perfect girl thing. They`re both completely *beep* up in various ways. Peter`s a looser, and Lizzie is an arrogant bitch.

That`s more like it!

The writing was pretty bad. His talking-to-himself lines were cringe worthy. Using McEnroe and Evert provided no authenticity. It was all and all a terribly insipid film.

No I love it. My mom and I watch it every year after the real Wimbledon ends.

I'm not repeating myself. I'm not repeating myself. Oh God, I'm repeating myself.

Nope...I bought it awhile back and my daughter liked it too and that was about 4 yrs ago. We've watched it a few times since then and I watched it today. Thought I'd come here on the boards to see how it's now rated and am shocked it's so low. I gave it a 9.

Is it the greatest movie in the world? No. But, I loved it! Sometimes, "little" movies are more entertaining to watch, then big-budget ones. I thought Kirsten and Paul were great together~I watch it everytime it's on!

Any movie with Kirsten Dunst is automatically a good movie, if only for the eye candy, not counting Spiderman 3 of course.....

was surprised how much i enjoyed it.

Rom-coms are okay, but they're just not my thing really. But there's something about this one that just kept me engaged. I think it is all about Paul Bettany, who repeatedly finds little ways to defy expectations and break the molds...even one as rigid as a romantic comedy.I have to add that the script and Bettany's supporting cast are also good.

been on movie channels alot over the last year; it's a good cute movie no doubt; not sure why IMDB is so low, it's over a 7

Of course you're not!
I think it is very refreshing. I'm not into "4 weddings and a funeral" kind of movies, but this one I really like it. Plus, tennis is a sport that is not usually shown in films.
