What's your real life romance story?

I am just wondering how people's love of romance films translate to their beliefs of real life love. Please elaborate on the following questions as much as you'd like...

1) If you could pick one film/couple and make it your real life romance story, what would it be and why?

2) Do you believe in love at first sight? Soul mates? Why?

3) Why do you enjoy watching romance films? Why do they have that 'feel good' factor?

4) Would you ever settle for anything less than head over heels in love in a relationship/ marriage?

5) Can love conquer anything? Why/Why not?

I'd really love to hear what everyone thinks!

1) If you could pick one film/couple and make it your real life romance story, what would it be and why?

I love Jake and Melanie's story in Sweet Home Alabama, and of course The Notebook, but I want my own story.

2) Do you believe in love at first sight? Soul mates? Why?

Definetly not love at first sight.. you have to fall in love with the person on the inside, not the person on the outside. As far as soul mates, I like the thought of it if you think you've found your soul mate. But if you haven't that person could be anywhere.

3) Why do you enjoy watching romance films? Why do they have that 'feel good' factor?
Everybody wants to find their soul mate and live happily ever after, myself included.

4) Would you ever settle for anything less than head over heels in love in a relationship/ marriage?

NO,the divorce rate is high enough already.

5) Can love conquer anything? Why/Why not?

I have no idea.

Well let me try,

1. There is so many, I would like it to be like the guy in 27 dresses, How he chases her and all.

2. I definitly beleive in love at first sight, though I also beleive you don't always no it. Soulmates I beleive in, there is someone for everyone.

3. They make me feel happy and good at the end of them. It shows that their life ended up perfect so you can for that split moment beleive that it will happen for you.

4 Yes, nothing as many people find out, is perfect. If love is visible, then it does not have to be "perfect"

5. No, the love might make you feel good for a while, but eventually life settles in and Love has nothing to do with that.

1) I would pick the notebook!! Seriously have you seen that movie like omg!! Ali and Noah's love has conquered any on screen love performances i've ever seen.

2) I sorta believe in love at first sight. You can find someone attractive but unless you have spent a whole entire life with them you would probably think there is no such thing as love! I DON'T believe in soul mates at all. I mean what if your soul mate is across the other side of the globe!?!

3) I love watching romance films because you can easily put yourself into the characters shoes and have that feel good feeling when the character finds love. Also the romantic music is a plus!! LOL that wouldn't happen in real life so it adds more effect and emotion :)

4) I would settle for pure 100% LOVE in a relationship and marriage! Head over-heels,over the moon, magical love :)

5) I truly think it can. I truly think it is the light in everyones tunnel :)

Thank you for posting this Darl' :)

1) Lucas and Peyton love story, or Spike and Buffy. I just love that these two couples that an instant connection, and a solid friendship, seeing the best and worst of someone and still loving them anyway. i would love to have something like that.

2) I don't believe in love at first sight. Just intrigue and lust at first sight. I don't necessarily believe in soulmates in the romantic way but I;m srue it exists. I do believe in true love though.

3) They give me hope that I could have a romance similiar to what the couple has onscreen.

4) I would never settle for anything less than a being with a guy I'm in loive with. That's probably why I haen't been in a relationship yet.

5) I believe love can can conquer anything but romantic love isn't the most inportant thing in the world, but love in itself is.

1) If you could pick one film/couple and make it your real life romance story, what would it be and why?

Lizzie and Darcy in Pride and Prejudice. Not only is it absolutely lovely and romantic, but both of them were humble enough to, at the end of the day, get over their faults (his pride, her prejudice) and admit that they were wrong. Both their journeys to love included an education of some sort, they had to learn that first impressions aren't everything. The honesty that they both showed and their acceptance of one another is what I think is vital to a longlasting relationship and eternal love.

2) Do you believe in love at first sight? Soul mates? Why?

Yeah, why not? Love at first sight definitely does happen for some people, and they know that what they have is important enough to work at it and keep it going. As for soulmates, I do definitely believe in them, I do believe that there is somebody out there for you. I do believe that people can fall out of love, but because I believe in destiny, and that everything happens for a reason, it just means to me that they were never the person you were meant to be with forever. They were in your life for a specific reason/purpose, and having fulfilled that, you can both move on.

3) Why do you enjoy watching romance films? Why do they have that 'feel good' factor?

Oh my goodness... yes! Absolutely! From the classics to the romantic comedies, from the ones show that things work out ok to the ones where the romance doesn't eventuate into a lifelong partnership (eg Casablanca, The Way We Were, Becoming Jane), I like to see people in that "I'm so happy because I'm in love" stage. Why do they have that feel-good factor? I don't really know, I guess because we like to see people at their happiest, and I guess that happens when people are in love. No matter how long or short the love lasts, we like to see others happy. It's nice!

4) Would you ever settle for anything less than head over heels in love in a relationship/ marriage?

No, because marriage is too important a thing to experience without having that feeling. If you're doing it for convenince or any other reason, then the whole commitment and declaration that marriage symbolises is kind of moot.

5) Can love conquer anything? Why/Why not?

Yes, because love encompasses many things - trust, respect, tolerance, acceptance, and forgiveness. And not just love between two people, but love for your fellow man. One of my favourite quotes is by Jimi Hendrix, and it really encapsulates what I think - "When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace." The love between two people, while a powerful thing in itself, is one small step to the love that the world really needs to experience.

Ok so I guess you could call me a bit of a romantic!

Well im a hopeless romantic so here goes.

1) If you could pick one film/couple and make it your real life romance story, what would it be and why?
I have two. John and Margeret out of North and South and The Drover and Lady Ashley out of Australia. This could possibly be because Richard Armitage and Hugh Jackman are gorgeous. To me they are both what true love should be and I could watch them over and over again.

2) Do you believe in love at first sight? Soul mates? Why?
LOve at first sight? I'd love to think so but no, not really. I guess it's possible like in Romeo and Juliet but it would be hard if you didn't know them at all. I think everyone has a soul mate if your lucky maybe two.

3) Why do you enjoy watching romance films? Why do they have that 'feel good' factor?
I think it's because they make me feel like anythings possible and anyone can find love.

4) Would you ever settle for anything less than head over heels in love in a relationship/ marriage?
For me it has to be marriage but as i said I'm a romantic. The idea of having a wedding and promising to love each other for ever and having a special song just makes me happy. And yes it would have to be head over heels love.

5) Can love conquer anything? Why/Why not?
No. I dont know why but i just dont think it can. If it could there wouldn't be any unhappy endings.

Sounds like a bag of grapefruits to me, Mr B.

1) If you could pick one film/couple and make it your real life romance story, what would it be and why?
Easy; The Notebook.
The love Allie & Noah have...
There's no words to describe it, in my opinion. Their love never died.

2) Do you believe in love at first sight? Soul mates? Why?
Yes, with all my heart; First-hand experience, plain & simple.
Soul mates, yes. Self explanatory, I think.

3) Why do you enjoy watching romance films? Why do they have that 'feel good' factor?
There's so many types of love, & I think romance films do their best to portray them. For me, there's that feel good factor because I know that, even if it is just a movie, there's things like that that actually happen in real life.

4) Would you ever settle for anything less than head over heels in love in a relationship/ marriage?
Relationship, yes. Marriage, no.

5) Can love conquer anything? Why/Why not?
As long as you're with your other half, it can conquer anything.
Don't know why, don't really care.
It's love.

1. Tough, really tough.

2. No. Sort of. I believe that you can't love a person without knowing a single thing about them. I sort of believe in soul mates in a way. I mean, yeah. I sort of do. :) It doesn't necessarily have to be a romantic kind of love. Maybe you could find your soul mate in true friendship or something of that sort. :)

3. Because I'm a hopeless romantic. <3 Everything about love makes me feel good. :)

4. I would never settle for anything less than His best. ;)

5. Yes, because God is love and He can conquer all. :)

1) If you could pick one film/couple and make it your real life romance story, what would it be and why?
I think it would be Landon & Jamie from A Walk To Remember. Not the dying part, but the love, connection and dedication that they had. Otherwise, I would pick Brooke and Julian from One Tree Hill. I can't explain why but I just feel connected to that relationship for some reason.
I think my ultimate real life romance story that I would want would be Jacob and Bella from The Twilight Saga. I love how they are friends first and can rely and depend on each other.

2) Do you believe in love at first sight? Soul mates? Why?
Not love at first sight, only in the movies. I'm not sure I believe in soul mates either, I guess I'll have to wait and see.

3) Why do you enjoy watching romance films? Why do they have that 'feel good' factor?
I guess watching them fulfills the wishes that I have for future relationships, that's why I like them.

4) Would you ever settle for anything less than head over heels in love in a relationship/ marriage?
No way!

5) Can love conquer anything? Why/Why not?
I think it can. I'm not sure why I believe that, I'm just a hopeless romantic I guess.

I would say that Smallville. Here me out. I'm no Lana fan, but I can totally understand the dynamic of Clark keeping his feelings and in essence (his powers) away from his loved one(S). And plus it's bittersweet, like the world.

2)Do you believe in love at first sight? Soul mates? Why?
Yes. I'm still in a state of uncertainty with a girlfriend from my school.

3)Why do you enjoy watching romance films? Why do they have that 'feel good' factor?
Same as above poster. I used to watch Meg Ryan-Tom Hanks stuff. My mom loves the Notebook, unfortunately.

4)Would you ever settle for anything less than head over heels in love in a relationship/ marriage?
No, man!

5)Can love conquer anything? Why/Why not?
50/50. I'm a cynic, but can be overly-sensitive.

1) If you could pick one film/couple and make it your real life romance story, what would it be and why?

I don't think I could pick any movie couple to make my real liife romance story. My husband and I have such an original romance.

2) Do you believe in love at first sight? Soul mates? Why?

I've always believed to fall in love it happens gradually, over time. Soul mates, of course. Something much greater than my husband or myself brought us together. We were over 1000 miles apart and met completely by chance. Nothing was planned at all, something pulled us together.

3) Why do you enjoy watching romance films? Why do they have that 'feel good' factor?

Even from when I was a younger girl, I enjoyed watching romance films. I think it was the fact that as a small girl you daydream and wonder if that's how it'll be when you do meet the man of your dreams.

4) Would you ever settle for anything less than head over heels in love in a relationship/ marriage?

I couldn't. I am definitely head-over-heels for my husband and him the same for me. There's nothing like loving one another so deeply and so strongly. I couldn't settle for anything less.

5) Can love conquer anything? Why/Why not?

I believe so. My husband is active duty Air Force. We've been through countless deployments, numebrous TDY's, been oceans and time zones apart and we only get stronger. When you truly love someone, love will conquer.
