sharei knew a guy who worked their said the show isn't rigged per se', BUT the network have executive veto power to axe a song that was legitimately eligible. supposedly because certain songs don't qualify to fit their new restrictive programming (basically radio friendly SAFE pop sh*t, and new YOUNG artists). so basically you can vote all you like. but there's no guarantee that BET will play it.

The FCC was unfairly targeting hip-hop to inforce tougher censorship. particularly the anti-authoritarian,and or socio-political rappers. but FCC and MTV was less draconian regrading video's that showed scantly clad women and other sexually charged images, and lyrics.
