if anyone knows who these 2 bands are youre my homie.

Hello I'm Johnny Knoxville and welcome to Jackass.

reply

Wow, I can't wait for this doco to come out. Alright, here's my personal heirarchy.

TSOL - S/T (circa 1980)
Dead Kennedies - Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables
Propagandhi - Today's Empires, Tomorrow's Ashes

...and may I add that Propagandhi are by far the most genuine punk band out in the culture today. With the advent of punk rock and rebellion infiltrating the mainstream, may they let us think otherwise via rocking the hell on.

Oh yeah and Doyle-Punk, yeah I do know Rosemary's Babies. How could you forget such a funny name haha. Does this mean I'm in your posse?

WYLD, I like your picks man, those are some of the best CD's I've ever listened to. Some of my favorites..

My Brain Hurts, Weasel Mania - Screeching Weasel
Stranger Than Fiction, No Control, Suffer, The Gray Race - Bad Religion
Situationist Comedy - Dillinger Four
Burning Flesh and Broken Fingers - The Criminals
Damaged - Black Flag
Kid Dynamite and Shorter, Faster, Louder - Kid Dynamite
How I Spent My Summer Vacation - The Bouncing Souls
End Of The Millennium - 59 Times The Pain

Are Young and Good Looking, How To Win Friends and Influence People, Sugarfix/Thank Heaven For Little Girls - Dwarves

Also, I gotta mention Green Day and their CD's "Dookie", and "Insomniac", great albums even if they are considered "sellouts".

To the poster citing Dude Ranch as an album introducing you to punk, I agree actually. While I realize that a TON of people hate the band, I remember hearing their songs on the radio constantly, so I was exposed to them on a regular basis as well. As much as I hate to admit it, I actually do like quite a few songs by the band.

reply

It's sad that only one person has mentioned the Minutemen.

Double Nickels on the Dime ~ Not only the best punk album of all time, but the best album of any genre.

reply

True, but I do think it has some severe competition with Zen Arcade. I think what's really unique about them is that despite the fact they're both under the same musical tag and compared a lot, the two albums sound NOTHING alike!
But hey, if you could combine killing Joke's 1980 debut with their 1990 Extremities, Dirt, and Various Repressed Emotions plus Rudimentary Peni's Cacophony, Big Black's Songs About *beep* and Fugazi's End Hits we'd have another severe competitor.

reply

"Rise of The Serpant Men" or "Grind the enemy"- Axegrinder
"Outlaw Anthems"- Blood for Blood
"Young Loud and Snotty"- Dead Boys
"Freaks *beep* Drunks and Junkies" or "Always Was, Is, and Allways Will Be"- GG Allin
"Bad Music for bad People"- The Cramps

Sex Pistols suck and so does Dead Kennedys and the Addicts.

People have to open their mind to other bands that are not mainstream.

reply

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm???!!!!!! The Dead Kennedys are mainstream?!?! I think Blood for Blood are probably more mainstream than they are. And unlike the Dead Kennedys, The Cramps had videos on MTV! I really don't mind you saying the Sex Pistols suck but I'm willing to bet you've never heard the Dead Kennedys and just said that to look hardcore. Hmph...poser!
