most disgusting terrible movie EVER

Hands down. Hallie Berry can't act. I can't believe Jr. and Cruz signed onto this POS movie. The plot was unoriginal, predictable as hell, and disgusting to the core. Who in their right mind would make up a story like this...? Tourturing and raping underage girls in the basement?? My god, it's like Satan's wet-dream and get the director's rocks off kinda thing. This movie was more satanic than the Omen. Raping women in their cell at a mental hospital?? My god, this movie sucked so bad.
I only bought it cuz it was a dual dvd with Queen of the Damned. Good music btw and an insult to even have them touching in the same case.

That being said, the end of "Monsters Ball" could have been totally life changing. But I honestly don't know who could have pulled it off. So much built 2 that one moment.

Maybe they'll remake "monsters" with some peeps who know where they R going.

Ok. I'm back. After a decade. Yes I'm the OP. Let me clarify, after showering myself clean from all the drivel I mucked through after having read all the posts accumulated here over the last 10 years...I'm glad my post had such an impact. Yeah, the movie is still "rible." And that won't EVER change no matter how many years go by. With that said, the part in QotD at the bar scene where Aaliyah ripped that vamp's heart out of his chest TO THE DROP IN BEAT from the song was so monumentally radical I wore out the rewind button on my remote to it. I would've bought the movie 5 times over just to see that part again and again. After having seen the movie in theaters and wiping away my tears from just how awful THAT movie was, I still had to own the dvd just to have those few seconds in my repertoire. Not to mention the soundtrack is one of the best EVER, which I will time and time again tout as such. NOT, however, the entirety of the movie. As far as mindless, predictable, crap-Berry role movies go Gothi"k"a is still...rible rible rible.

Frankly, if you're trying to revolutionize *anything*, you should know that you're going to have absolutely 0 success if people can't understand what you're saying. Posting on a blog isn't the same as texting. It seems things like internet memes and text message abbreviations are doing wonders for reducing American childrens' ability to write and speak coherently. As such, it seems you're a fairly young person, and are trying to prove a point by being different. Originality and non-conformity is one thing. Idiotic blathering is something else entirely. Maybe you should make the effort to pick up a dusty old book, and learn a thing or two. Like how to properly, or at least effectively use, the English language. Or not.

back to the OP - although a fictional story there is actually a case of serial killers who had the same kind of basement video-torture room thing going on - there were 2 guys and the one guy killed himself in prison and his wife showed the police the secret 'lair'. So this is very very loosely based on reality you can say - so OP let me ask you...which is worse, some person making this story up and it being all fictional if not a little disturbing or the fact that there is a loose basis on fact and that things like this really do happen ('cept for the ghost thing....well not that we know of...) Personally I'd rather all this be make believe and live in a world without psychos but not gonna happen so at least this has a nice, neat ending.

This. I agree. Stuff like this really happens, OP. If you this film is more satanic than The Omen, you clearly haven't seen The Exorcist films. What's interesting is The Cell has something similar except the guy in there doesn't molest them, he kills them.

Seems that nobody understands "Silence Is'" ironic humor...seems you all fell...hook, line and sinker.

As childish as Silence Is... was, you all retorted in an identical fashion. Childishly.

heretic was going for the "One Liner of the Day" award.

Sadly surpassed by the guy who asked his 5 year old sister to read a statement consisting of mainly monosyllabic words, translated into "txt" form, for quicker and easier reading.

Furthermore, as clever as all the Silence Is haters claim to be, you're "amazing" grasp of the english language failed to notice an attempt at simplistic word play.

The irony is this; who is more stupid?

Oh, perhaps people here would partake in a session of chilling out and realize that their actions and words shall never impact upon the world like the balls to face said world, no?

Yeah, another thing, chances are I'll never read this thread again, so make your replies as memorable and funny as possible for the next reader, or less importantly, your friends.

It's not a matter of "hate" or "bullying". All I'm saying is don't expect your opinion of the movie, or anything else, to be taken seriously until you learn how to talk and write in a form relatively "PROPER GRAMMER". No one is saying it has to be perfect, but you should make the effort to speak and write in proper english in a region where it's it's the primary language.

Further more your just making yourself look more and more stupid and ignorant by using all this "ghetto talk" "ebonics" and from what I understand what they call "Texting lingo" now.

It doesn't make you sound or look cool. The people laughing aren't laughing WITH YOU but rather AT YOU because of how stupid, ignorant, and uneducated you sound.

You're only being treated stupid, simply because you're acting, talking and writing in manner that makes it seem like you ARE STUPID. If one improves on ones english, and uses it so he doesn't sound so stupid, then one will not be treated as such. So if you don't like how you're being treated it's simple. change.

reply

Are you trying to sound like Spleen in Mystery Men?

But yeah, dude, I just skipped your original post until I saw all the talk about it. I didn't want to take the time to translate it. You're not supposed to have to stop and figure out what something says when you read, that's the beauty of writing and language and the human mind. And then I slow down to try and see what you wrote, and realize, "Oh, must be a pre-teen or something...?"

See having bought it to get Queen of the Damned proves, IMO, that the OP does not have a good grasp on good films.

I am not saying I love this film, but I definitely like it better than QotD.

And I have to say that I do not find it hard at all to read Silence Is' posts. I do think it is lazy and juvenile to write on a message board like you are texting on your phone, but I think he gets his point across well.

reply

I think baby poo soup would taste better than QotD. Clearly the OP is not aware of IwtV. It's kind of like loving Aliens having never seen Alien. Wait, not it's not. Both those movies rule. The OP has officially embarrassed themselves for life. What a lousy intro to IMDb. Poor fool.

I do think it is lazy and juvenile to write on a message board like you are texting on your phone

Lazy and juvenile? You're far too nice. I just screen capped his/her stupidity. He/she is never living it down in this place again.

"People should know when they're conquered" - Quintus

reply

Disgusting? Horrible? apparently many film-goers don't really go see "Film".

a few examples of "disgusting" films for you:
-Salo
-Requiem for a Dream
-Caligula
...HOWEVER! the problem lies with the fact that those are all recipients of high critical acclaim from the academic world.

Horrible movies (i.e.- not "Film"):
-Beowulf starring Christopher Lambert
-any Charlie's Angels movie
-Batman & Robin
and there's 1,34587,0598-66 direct-to-video movies that are simply excess physical waste and nothing more.

and two things i want to address:
1. disgusting and disturbing ARE NOT THE SAME THING. Disgusting is the sort of thing you can easily find on websites like Rotten.com. Disturbing is when that sort of thing makes your neurons fire in an analytical way ("how does this apply to the world?" etc, etc) despite being uncomfortable.

2. RAPE: in art, in reality. Rape is the worst thing ever... i don't think anyone has ever denied this notion. HOWEVER! in art, it often represents (very easily and directly) the darkest parts of the human monster. rape is often used as a subjective tool to express the extremity of the situation or theme.
for example, when William Wallace's wife is savagely and brutally raped TO DEATH, it was representative of the entire situation (the raping of the Scots by the English ruling faction). they could've left that part out, i'm sure, but LOOK WHAT WAS HAPPENING! nothing would've symbolized the "the last straw" quite as well. A similar thing happens in Sam Peckinpah's farewell film, "Straw Dogs", to Dustin Hoffman's (character's) wife resulting in brutally killing a lot of people in a brutal "last straw" kind of way.

having said all this, Gothika is a pretty good film- i like it more each time. it's not the type of thing that anyone was expecting any Oscars from, but a lot of people /did/ see it, and enjoyed it. the acting is spot on for the film (not over or under acted), cinematography is AMAZING, and held the spookiness and interest throughout thru the building and revealing... oh, and the soundtrack- not too much, not too little.

But it's not for kids!!! c'mon... read the fN rating on the box. be an adult about the thing before bashing.

thanks for your time and consideration.

I only read the OP's topic post, and that being said...you bought a 2-disc set for Queen of the Damned? You paid enough money for TWO movies...for THAT? I'll admit, im not the BIGGEST Gothika fan (though I do like it a bit, enough to have bought it mad cheap in a bargain bin lol), but Queen of the Damned...seriously? That's like a BAD (well...worse than normal) sci-fi original with its balls cut off. Some movies are so bad they're good, or at least entertaining in a "Pieces"/Ed Wood movie kinda way, but that one was just AWFUL.

Ouch! The OP is a good reason why kids should not be allowed anything that can text message until they are old enough to have a good grasp of the English language. He must be very lonely or why else would he continue this idiocy? QoftheD? OMG even Ann Rice the author refused to acknowledge the movie was based on her book. Gothica is not a really good movie BUT it is still a far cry better than alot of them being thrown out by start up video companys, and Gothica had the "potential" to be a great movie with a director more attune to subtle horror/suspence. I am also replying to everyone but the OP because I dont think he will understand the big words we have been useing anyways.
