This or Sub-Zero?

I just recently saw Sub-Zero which i thought was cool, very short, like a little over an hour long, but cool. Is this one just as good or better than Sub- Zero?

Sub-Zero definitely! It works better on every level. Better music, better characterizations, better animation and character designs and some really great action sequences.

I haven't seen Sub-Zero in many many years, but I remember once when we rented the VHS and I thought (at the time) that some of it was really boring. From what I recall the parts that actually had Mr. Freeze were really well done in my opinion, especially since Mr. Freeze was never one of my favorite characters in the first place. Of course I was really young so I probably couldn't appreciate the character subplots or anything like I can now.

I really need to rewatch Sub-Zero, it seems like Mr. Freeze is one of Batman's villains that doesn't get used enough. Plus I need to see it now that I have a better appreciation for character development and such.

However, I remember seeing Mystery of the Batwoman on TV when I was also very young (probably about the same age as when I saw Sub-Zero) and I remember just about everything in it was absolutely boring. Not even the fight scenes seemed particularly interesting. None of the characters stood out, the plot didn't stick out, nothing.

What's odd though is I've been able to rewatch Mystery of the Batwoman because it came on a DVD 2-pack with Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker (my personal favorite of the DCAU films and the reason I got the DVD) and had almost the same impression. I've watched the DVD a couple times, once with my brother and we were both astounded at how boring the movie was.

Don't get me wrong, the animation is crisp, the fight scenes are well-done and Bruce Wayne's character is well-developed. However, the mystery involving the Batwoman is nonexistent (it becomes immediately clear who she is as soon as she's on screen), the plot involving Penguin and the gangsters doesn't draw me in at all, and overall it's just boring.

It's not necessarily a bad film, but it just doesn't pull you in and there's no sense of urgency. Both times I rewatched it the film actually made me want to watch the other DCAU films just because it doesn't thrill. There was one scene where Batman is investigating a room and gets caught by a gangster, but Batman is able to intimidate him just by looking at him so that the gangster leaves the room and acts like nothing happened. When me and my brother saw that, we laughed our @$$es off.

Bottom line is I haven't seen Sub-Zero recently enough to come out and say it's a good movie, but I've seen Mystery of the Batwoman more than a few times and every single time it bored the hell out of me.

Can't be too careful with all those weirdos running around.
