I noticed that too! As far as when it was coined it sounds like something hotly debated.

My granddad use to joke there were never photos of him because he always took the photo so he'd turn the camera around, smile and take a photo of himself. It was a family joke. He'd take a photo of all of us gathered together then say "Now one of me so you know what I looked like". I miss him.
