Favorite character? Least Fav?

Favorite had to be any of the girls. They seemed to be down to earth. Least favorite...Harry....oh my, where do I start.

Some of the vicious things on this thread people so freely say about kids is depressing. I feel like I need to go gargle some mint Listerine for about three weeks to get the taste out of my mouth. My "least fav" are any of the *beep* posters who verbally attacked any of these bright, ambitious, dedicated, and innocent children. Please get someone to puke in your face on my behalf.
My favorite character is... oh, that's right, none of them are characters.

"...then all collapsed, and the great shroud of the sea rolled on as it rolled 5000 years ago."

Well, sheylerosen, this is a public forum about a popular movie, so people are going to discuss their favourite characters. If the word 'character' is disagreeable, what about favourite 'speller' or 'contestant'?

Posters are right about Harry; he's obnoxious, cocky and a sore loser. Neil's father talks way too much in the movie, though Neil himself is likeable- he's reportedly at NASA these days!

The rest of the kids are nice, including the winner Nupur. All the girls are really cool, as are their parents.

My favourite was April. I thought she was the most mature in the sense that she knew she probably wouldn't win but she still tried her hardest. (and ended up in the top four?) I also loved her parents. They didn't seem too stage parent-like and I loved her eccentric mum.

I also liked Nupur and Neil. I felt pity for Harry... poor kid, he seemed too obsessed with the competition.

They're real people! You can't say who you liked or not...that's mean because they're different now and they might be upset and also you don't know them.

Having said that, I did have a soft spot for April.
