Am i the only one who liked this movie?

In general i love historical movies, and i'm sad that we hardly get that anymore, but i guess it's because of the cost it is to make those movies and if they fail it would be a costly mistake, but i really like this movie!

You most certainly are not :)

reply

I like it as well.

reply

I've liked it since the first time I saw back in 2004.

I hate it when people ask this question. Did you look at the rating? It's clearly obvious you aren't the only one out of billions of people on earth who like this movie. Such an annoying question.

Hear me now! This place is cursed, damned, and yes your master is the devil!

I enjoyed it immensely. A very LOTR-esque Greek epic.

Like? In my opinion it's the all-time greatest sword & sandal flick!

The greatest? Hardly.
Gladiator? Spartacus? The Fall of the Roman Empire?

reply

I never saw The Fall of the Roman Empire (although it's on my watchlist), but Troy is decidedly superior to the overrated Gladiator IMHO.

As for 1960's Spartacus, the first hour stands with this best movies of all time, sword & sandal or otherwise; but the next two hours pale by comparison (still good though). So, as a whole, I feel Troy is superior.

I like it so much that I'm watching it right now!

Laugh while you can, Monkey Boy

Another stereotypical, "Am I the only one who liked this.." question. Possibly the dumbest group of questions on IMDB boards.

reply

Grump much? The question draws out other fans of the movie and compels them to share why they liked it. What's wrong with that?
