i do only know about "a walk to remember". i´d be glad for other proposals...

THE BOAT THAT ROCKED [Pirate Radio] made me cry! The rescue scene was so touching.
I'm a little shocked nobody recommended you to watch If Only... (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0138590/) which is clearly the original, British version of this movie. That it's not mentioned on the main page is a little weird, too. In the US, it's known as Twice Upon a Yesterday. Anyway, I can practically guarantee it's better than this one (having not seen it), though roles are reversed. And it brings tears to this man's eyes by the end every single time!

If Only has the same "trick" with the time travel. I liked it slightly more than this probably because the male lead seemed more ... male? Many of these films are enjoyable but the men seem to me to vary between thoughtless apes and saccharine soppy romantics.
Anyhow, but I would say that they use the same time travel sort of schtick but go for a very different punchline... Highly recommended
And if it's bawling your eyes out you're after; Pixar's Up takes some beating
