11:14 vs. Crash

I found this film's page just browsing the IMDb, and it looks pretty good. But I was just wondering if there are as many similarities to Crash as there appear to be just by reading the synposis. I just want to know how the two compare before seeing this.

If you are up in the air about which to see, Crash is a very serious film purely revolving around racism and preconception of strangers. 11:14 is just a car-wreck and incidents leading up to it. Comical, dark, and nothing to really do with any social commentary. I liked crash but the characters were way too one-dimensional for the seriousness of the movie. 11:14 is very entertaining and a great choice in my opinion.
