this movie was an abomination to book readers. it was the worst movie "based" on a book ever created. there was no elf who wanted to be a lawyer! there was no prince char fan club! her step sisters were supposed to be fat and even uglier than they were in the movie! Anne Hathaway is the same in every movie! I saw no difference in her acting from Princess Diaries or whatever her first movie was called. it was horrible! what made me mad was the whole evil uncle and the stupid snake...... i hated that snake. Anyways the only part i liked was when she sang because she has a good voice. the only reason why i hated the movie was because i had read the book at least 10 times before i watched that movie!!

I haven't read ahead to see other people's comments - can't be bothered as everyone has their own opinion - but just saw this tonight and I thought it was awfully cute. My seven year old loved it! I haven't read the book though and I'm glad I didn't. I can understand your reaction in a way. The books are always better than the movies.

It is definitely geared toward a younger audience, but I think adults will like it too.

I have to agree with you though. I didn't like the snake. His voice was annoying to me. And with Cary Elwes, nothing will quite add up to his character in The Princess Bride. I loved him in that and quite frankly, hated him in this one! And that stupid fairy? Arghhhh!!! She drove me crazy.

All in all I'm very happy to have seen it. Hugh Dancey is a cutie. Even my daughter thought so!

I think that they should do another "Ella Enchanted," but that this time, they stick closer to the book. It is a delightful and well-written book.

Tiggernina you're my hero!!!! :o) This is one of my FAVORITE books growing up, and i HATED how this movie ruined it!!!! OMG, why make a movie like this, if Your going to destroy the entire story completely????!!!!!!!

Who cares about the book! Have you not seen Anne Hathaway's perfect rack and awesome lips? I could watch this movie over and over just for that...

if you hate this movie with such a passion, then why did you even bother to type in 'ella enchanted' into the search link, click on it, scroll down to the IMDB message boards and even BOTHER to post something entitling a movie that you 'hate with a passion?'

if you truly hate this movie with such a passion, its either you dont, or you just have a dull, non existing life in which you search movies you hate and make up idiotic, senseless posts about?

My wife and I really enjoy this movie every time we watch it. It's fun light hearted and cheesy :)

Clearly you didn't read "World War Z" and then watch the movie. THAT was the worst adaptation of a movie.
