Incredibly bad plot hole

No D.N.A. test on the type O blood in the trunk of Dave"s car. A whole pint of blood. To see if it matched Kattie's. Ruins an otherwise very good movie. Also the cops should have suspected the younger brother earlier knowing it was Ray Sr's gun and Kattie knew the attacker

reply

As I understood it, the events occur in a short span of time. A couple of days, maybe a week? Matching DNA can take weeks or even months. So the police was just using the information that they had.

reply

It doesn't wash. There was no mention of it, I mean a whole pint of the same blood type had gotten to Dave's trunk the same night of her murder. The only way the plot works is to assume that they were the most clueless detectives imaginable. So if you want to accept that then I guess it works.

reply

Moron, wasn't it explained in the reply that testing can take several weeks? Yet you reply with the same ignorant nonsense?

reply

Moron ? Its still a major plot hole my easily upset little cockroach. Comparing two fresh samples of blood D.N.A. takes a matter of a couple of days...the most. That they could release Dave with one pint of type O blood in his trunk is a joke. And should have been addressed. Your intelligence has been found wanting. I suggest you try reviewing cartoons. They may be more your speed

reply

One, why are you not replying in line?

Two, DNA takes longer than type testing. Remember, this story is well over 15 years old.

Three, the scene covered the suspect blood. The car was "stolen." Go back and watch it again. Not just that scene but the whole movie. If you missed that, there's no telling what else you missed.

reply

OMG, you really are a moron. It was explained.

reply

NOT a plot hole FFS.

reply

I think they can test DNA in less than 24 hours.

reply

Now maybe. Not in 2000 which is the year this movie is set in.
