My reason was simple: I bought the dvd and sat down to watch it one night. Movies with such well trained animals always hold my attention, being an animal lover myself. I currently live with six cats and five dogs including: Breeze (collie chow malemute), Lady (keeshund chow: epileptic, rescued from abusive home), Lindburg (minature american eskimo: deaf, rescued from abusive home), Apollo (german shepherd, possibly with husky: rescued), Evony (purebred Harlequin Great Dane: born deaf). My two deaf "children" are trained to American Sign Language, since I'm not familar with the hand signals used by dog trainers.Let's face it, with my little pack of dogs, "Good Boy!" isn't just a movie with me: it's a lifestyle!

And as far as choosing which dog in the movie is my favorite, I really couldn't. The Greater Dane reminds me of Evony (same breed,different coloring) but all of the canine stars of this movie are excellent. After watching so many movies with the actors spewing out swear words whenever they feel like it to make themselves look tough, it's refreshing to find a movie that the actors are just as tough but don't swear at all, although they do bark loudly a couple times. A good movie to watch with your canine "kids" gathered around.

The dvd even gives some tips of how to train, and backgrounds of the various breeds. Basically, very useful movie if you have a dog, or are thinking of getting one.

The dogs were really cute. And Liam Aiken is a good actor. I've seen him a few things. It was a cute movie for kids.

Er...the first time I ever saw it, or the reason I (at 15) still watch it occasionally?

The answer to the first question is because my dog-crazy best friend saw it in theaters, loved it, and recommended it to me. Being a dog-lover, I encountered it in the video rental store one day and thought, "Hey, why not?" My first impression was that it was a really cute and heartwarming story.

Then, later on, I got it from the video rental store and watched it again. (Okay, keep in mind that this was AFTER I started thinking of guys as anything but stupid and annoying.) Well...Liam's just cute. And a good actor too.

I saw this movie because I absolutely love dogs, particularly dogs that talk. I'm even willing to see a few humans in a movie as long as the dogs take center stage. I am years away from being a kid, but I absolutely loved this film.

I saw it coz Liam's in it, but it became one of my fave movies because its based on goodness, and there isn't anyone who's actually evil in it, which is rare nowadays.

It was filmed in my neighbourhood!

reply

Yep, my obsession with dogs, simple as that. ^^

3 reasons:

* It's a family film . . . that's one of my favorite genres
* It's a comedy . . . that's another favorite genre
* It has cast members that I like a lot, like Kevin Nealon and Molly Shannon

If I would have known beforehand that it had slightly absurdist SciFi/fantasy elements, that would have been even more reason to check it out.
