Did any one else like or am I on my own?

When I watched this movie I really liked it. I my opinion I don't think the acting was as bad as people say, the story line was alright and the dancing was great. I was actually quite suprised when I saw that this films only had 4.4 because when I asked my friends what hey thought they all loved it.

You're on your own

Actually, you're not on your own. I liked it a lot, even if it was a little over the top. Whatever, it was still good in my book.

I liked it. It's not great, but it is at least comparable to most movies around here with ratings of at least a 6.

It was better than I expected; I'll say that much. Then again that's probably because I went into this movie having heard that it was horrible.

I thought there would be no plot but there was one, and a decent one at that. The music and dancing were great. Of course in the end Jessica Alba's body was the best part of the movie.

I saw it on Bravo late at night, seeing Jessica Alba dance is good enough for a 9?10 for me, and besides the plot was okay, I would watch it again.

If you think a movie is bad, first ask yourself is it Zombie Nation-bad??

I know this post is a bit late, but I wanted to say that I also loved this film!

I've read most of the threads on this board and truly didn't get the same feeling.

I never thought JA was supposed to be black, had no idea that the people playing her parents were black.

I also didn't know who half of the music artists were.

I will say I thought JA was alittle too sickily sweet, but I also never thought this movie was supposed to be real look into the music industry or life in NYC. It's is supposed to be a "feel good movie".

Having said all of that, I'm not American or into rap and hip hop music, so maybe thats why I not offened by it, but to those that are... it's just a movie!

Mostly on account of Jessica Alba and Joy Bryant, I've seen it repeatedly. I love watching people dance, mainly since I'm a frightful klutz. I was amazed to learn that Alba's brother couldn't believe his sister, "the klutz," was in a dancing movie--he'd be HORRIFIED to see me. :p

You're not alone. I actually enjoyed it. I thought Jessica Alba played Honey Daniels the exact way they wanted her to. She could have put more of herself into the role instead of just being that character they want you to be but she was good. It was a little corny. Some parts did show the kids on the street and getting in trouble and how there are alternatives to get them off the street so that was good. Also, the dancing was very good by all parties in this movie. For 2003 it was unique and different at that time. Jessica Alba is sexy and can dance well. :) So I thought it was good and It's an easy movie to watch from time to time.
