If some things were changed this movie would've been GOOD!

So I LOVE anything that has to do with Carrie, from the book all the way to the musical! I just want to clear that up.

So where should I start...I enjoyed this movie. Mainly because of how there were more scenes from the book in this such as the falling rocks scene and the "dirty pillows" part. I also loved the way Angela Bettis made Carrie SOOooOOoo vunerable up to the point where I didn't want the blood to tip over!

BUT I think that if they changed the ending it would've been much better. The ending REALLY put me off. As well as that, some of the CGI was not so good but what would you expect from a TV movie. If there was a bigger budget the CGI could've been much better (especially in the prom destruction and town destruction) and maybe this movie would be pretty amazing.

I actually think this version is better than the 76 version. The ending was screwed with because they were gonna make it a show. I liked how this one showed young Carrie i feel like if the 2013 version had this length it would have fared a bit better

I kinda preferred the 2013 remake over this one. Probably because I felt more connected with it since I thought Chloe showed the 'Carrie' I imagined in the book EXTREMELY well even though she wasn't fat and ugly. I liked how in the remake you could tell that she knew what she was doing in the prom scene, she was getting revenge and that was pretty cool!

Chloe was way too pretty for Carrie's role. She was easily the best looking girl in the movie and she was playing an outcast girl? It just didn't seem believable to me.

This is the best version. Better than the original and 2013. The ending is new and refreshing. Wished they got the series going.

Carrie trying to live a normal life but has to use her power every now and again. They can expand on the story.

Additionally, how will society react to the proven existance of telekinesis, how will Chamberlain develop after what happened, the other telekinetics, the government´s persecution of her in order to abuse her, the hunting of her because the justice system wants to arrest her, others, who want to lynch her, etc....

They wanted to make Carrie out to be a cross between Mary Worth and David Banner (as in The Incredible Hulk). And I can tell you right now, that would never have worked.

If they had their heart set on a series, they should have ended it, not with Susan Snell spiriting Carrie out of Chamberlain, but her hitchhiking, getting into a car with some adult Looking For A Little Action, killing him, dumping, him, and speeding off. At which time she becomes, not The Incredible Non-hulk, but The Fugitive. David Keith's detective is on the hunt, because as far as he's concerned, Carrie is guilty of murder--premeditated and with vengeance. On another thread someone compared him to Lieutenant Sam Gerard, LAPD, in the original Fugitive.

But that detective needn't be the only one. Did you read Firestarter, also by King? Then you know about another government institution King created: The Shop. The Shop specializes in paranormal phenomena it might be able to weaponize. They want Carrie because she could fire a missile or crush an incoming missile on final trajectory, whichever paid the most. Any power having Carrie working for them would be well-nigh invincible--or the ultimate dictators. Especially if they could find out where her power came from and duplicate it.

After a season of that, let them make up their minds to spin off into a series of movies, like the Star Trek franchise. I'm sure you can imagine that The Shop would soon attract the attention of every intelligence agency in the world. Including Britain's MI6, and Israel's Mossad. Now you've got something....

I feel like if the 2013 version had a similar script as this version it would've been great. The TV version covered a lot that was in the book but was cut out of both versions. but sadly it suffered from a lower budget and TV constraints. (I can forgive it for that) I like all 3 versions of "Carrie" for different reasons. the 2002 version is more detailed and focused. The 70's version is more colorful and stylized with great acting. The 2013 version is more erratic and gory.

Yes, you are 100% right. All three adaptations are very different but each is good in its own way.

I really like it. A tv series would have been interesting or a sequel at least. She would go to a special school for kids with telekinetic powers. There was a sequel for the original one and that was alright. Carrie has a half sister.

Since it didn't happen I would leave it where Sue goes to find Carrie and she reads her mind to find out she didn't do any wrong. Carrie lets her go and does on the road.
