Walking Out of Movies

Normally I would never dream of walking out on a movie. Ticket prices in California being ridiculously high, so it isn't worth it. But once I started seeing video game footage I was gone.

I have only walked out of two movies in my entire life (and I've seen some crap):
Big Momma's House
House of the Dead

What movies have others walked out of?

It seems to me, that every movie with "House" in the title you should try to avoid

This is true because I also despised House of a Thousand Corpses, House on Haunted Hill, The Lake House, etc.

But I do enjoy Little House on the Prairie, This Old House with Bob Vila, and Welcome to the Dollhouse.

I love going to the movies. I see lots of them. Although I have never walked out of one, I have a compiled list of the ones I wish I had walked out of. I stay because no matter how much I would complain, there is just no way getting your money back for a complete suckfest.

Here they are in no particular order:

The Happening A.K.A the worst movie ever made
Striptease
28 Days Later
Unbreakable
House of 1000 Corpses
Evita

Lady In the Water

and more that I can't think of right now

Star Wars huh? wow, that's unexpected, if you're a fan

Yes I must be holding a grudge. DAMN YOU UWE BOLL!!! Did it seem like that? I thought I was using this movie as a jumping off point to discuss other movies people have walked out of.

It's really been five years? Wow this movie just gets better with age, doesn't it? I didn't know that there was a statute of limitations on commenting on a movie. I'm going to inform IMDb to shut down The Godfather boards. It's been over 35 years since that came out, so it must be time to get over it.

Apparently I'm not supposed to think something sucks anymore after 5 years. I have to get on the phone with my ex-girlfriend immediately and let her know.

Never accually walked out but here are two that come to mind !

Robin Hood: Men in Tights (I begged my friend to leave, he was driving, but he wouldn't go, he laughed through the whole thing, I think just to piss me off ! I wanted to stab him in the eye with my straw ! )

Alien Vs. Predator - my wife was begging me to leave about five minutes in, but I kept saying, it'll get better ... it never did ... and she still holds it against me ..... (sigh --- karma)

I walked out on Star Wars III, Alexander, Quarantine, and Shrek 3. Those are the ones off of the top of my head, they were all pretty bad or super lame.

I didn't see this in the cinema, I rented it, glad I did =)

Gimli - He was twitching because he's got my axe EMBEDDED IN HIS NERVOUS SYSTEM!

You DO realize that MOST theaters will give you a refund if you outright walk out of a movie before it's even over, right? At which point, you won't be wasting money at all.

Asking for a refund on a movie you don't like is like asking for your money back at Burger King because halfway through your Whopper you realized you wanted a chicken sandwich.

If I make a poor choice of movies, I'm not going to punish the movie theatre for it.

My dad's list:

The Power (1984)
The Boogeyman (1980)
Saturn 3 (1980)

I also wanted to walk out the second they played the old footage from the video game....but I said to myself, "let's see what happens when they actually get to the house"....but the movie was so awful and it took them so long to even get into the damn house...that i just walked out and went to a diner instead. I also almost walked out of Not another teen movie...but my friends made me stay.

Only one I ever walked out of was Godzilla, gawd that was awful.

Kull the Conqueror was the only time I've walked out of a movie before it ended. A buddy of mine from high school had awful taste in movies and talked all of our friends into going to see that abomination of cinema. At one point I fell asleep only to be awoken by the blinding light of snow in one scene. Watching Kevin Sorbo in the Hercules TV series would have been much cheaper and less painful, as the movie was basically a 90 minute Hercules episode.
