I wonder how many people got it- One of the funnest lines in the film

When Woody's character was married he said her family was dancing around him saying "We will make him one of us, we will make him one of us"

He was referring to a scene in Tod Browning's 1932 horror classic "FREAKS".

It was a great scene showing all the odd, misshaped, and weird freaks dancing around a woman who wanted to marry a midget who was part of that circus. All she wanted was his money and planned to kill him.

"Rampart: Squad 51."

A few minutes before that reference we glimpsed a "Freaks" poster in the apartment.

As McMurphy said in One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest - "I'm smarter'n you, ain't I?"

Awight we're The Daamned we're a punk baand and this is called Carn't Be Appy T'day!

I had a weird deja vu with that line. Thanks for reminding me it came from "Freaks." I should have guessed because the poster appears in this film.

Lyle Lovett`s cop character also mumble-chants "one of us, one of us" in the hilarious police station scene in Altman`s The Player... so that`s what it`s about.

"facts are stupid things" - Ronald Reagan

reply

haha that's funny.

i actually didn't know that, but still found it to be hilarious. i was thinking either Dobel was just nuts and imagined that or that they were extremely religious freaks that turned out to be a religious cult and found out he was jewish LOL
