Halo 1 is the better game campaign wise but halo 1 pc has online which i think makes halo 1 a better game. is it just me are did halo 2 end *beep* I think that if i had to say which is best out of halo 1, 2, and halo pc halo 1 normal is the best.

Since I only really play single player.

It's definitely got to be Halo 1. I'm sorry, but the only level I really particularly enjoyed playing in Halo 2 was the Earth based level as well as the sequence where you were getting to / on the big platform thing going across the lake. Aside from that, well... I dunno about you guys, but I felt I hardly got the chance to use half the weapons in the game, specifically the earth ones. But, aside from those two mentions, none of the game really stands out as me wanting to have another play as them.

Meanwhile, although Halo 1 has the iiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnncredibly annoying repetitiveness of redoing half the maps, it did have so many standout 'cool' moments in it. From the first level of defeating the boarding assault, to the warthog introduction-ey section, the defend the hill, the 'Alamo' style part of the level. Then following that, you've got the defending the hangar scene, the underground highways, blood gulch, the 'hunter' type arenas, the pyramid attack and of course, the car chase.

All of those are really memorable, iconic scenes that I'd happily play any time, but well, as I said, the only one that really stands out to me in Halo 2, was the Earth level, which had the great ending of the scarab.

Halo 1. It was awesome as a fresh new idea and it was very original and more thought out than 2, i mean 2 was awesome, but i think halo1 was better. it was just awesome!

Halo 1 it wasn't completely fresh, but for the most part it was,you had that epic and in your face campaign that had probably one of the best co-ops ever. The multiplayer while not online had great maps and my friends, who I could see and talk to in the flesh instead of online, had a great time with it.
Plasma grenades, the Captain Keyes story arc, Cortana always by your side, the one man v. the ring feeling, flying the banshee, the pistol power & zoom, the build-up into seeing the Flood. Are truly stand-out moments of a great video game. Though the game did have repetitive levels that is just a flaw of the Halo series.

Halo 2 had great online multiplayer, some of the best. But I don't like playing on line so I care about the campaign which was rushed, while granted the battle at Cairo Station against the Scarab is wonderful and I am a fan of the Arbiter; the boss fights were a bit unnecessary(Halo 1 didn't have any and was great). That cliffhanger was a bit too cheesy and overall the universe got a lot smaller due to the huge amount of people that helped you. The atmosphere of Halo 1 is huge and works well and while Halo 2 tries to work with interaction, Halo 3 did a much better job. Plus going through a level once as MC then once as the Arbiter annoyed me

Halo 3 campaign was strange, Arbiter took a back seat, it was much shorter than the other games campaigns. Though I will give them props for keeping the levels with some variety except for a couple. The last level and the 3rd to last level are a lot of fun to play, the search for Cortana around Gravemind level is weak. However, through all this, the online multiplayer completely owns the other two, very creative and strong job there. But again I don't care about online multiplayer.

So as always I give props to the original concept and I go with Halo 1.

Got to go with halo 1 all the way. I'd start talking about how much more awesome it is then halo 2, but everything has been said. Its so good to see others who know the truth, cause they have played the game (1), unlike my friends who never played 1 and refuse to because they cant imagine it being better then 2.

better campaign
better levels, campaign and for some of the mp
similar weapon good-ness, ie br and h1 pistol are IDENTICAL really, twelve shots and twelve bursts, with similar ammo amounts
mp is close live was a bit off and halo 1s was good

Halo 1 kicked h2's ass. enough said.

Halo 2, but only because of additions made to the gameplay.

More and better gameplay, boss battles, more weapons, vehicles, and enemies, and all vehicles are destructible, graphics are better too.

Id have to say that halo 1 is the best in the series. sure halo 2 was ok but that cliffhanger ending almost completely ruined the whole experience of the game. I hate it when studios both game and movie sign the developers/ producers on for trilogy after the first ones a hit and then decide to make it one long story line over 2 games/movies and connect then with some cliffhanger BS like they did in halo 2 or like in the matrix reloaded it pisses me off if a game is going to be in a series the games/movies need to be able to stand on their own as well as compliment the series as a whole which is where halo 2 failed because in order to see the rest of the story you had to buy halo 3 not to mention new hardware and even then since halo 2 ended on a cliffhanger it doesn't make halo 3 feel like halo 3 it just makes it feel like halo 2.5 with upgraded graphics whereas halo 1 was able to stand alone they managed to tie up most of the loose ends to make up for an epic ending and still left room for a sequel to be made around the remaining characters without being in the same story arc that halo had.

Hey, don't knock the Matrix Trilogy man. That is the greatest trilogy ever made. And it indeed was meant to be a trilogy and it was made the way they planned. I was surprised they made 2 and 3 at the same time but that ended up making it fit even better. They didn't just make *beep* up as they went along....in way oof expanding the story.

Now, the Halo trilogy....that was a *beep* up. I think after being through Halo 2 and 3, Halo 1 was probably just a *beep* up. That or virtually everyone working on Halo 1 was fired or quit for 2 and 3.

Halo 2 was the worst of the trilogy. They ruined everything that made Halo great. Fron *beep* with every gun to leaving our fall damage and making the vehicle play lame....it just sucked. Then the brainles dual-wielding. I don't know hwo many times I'd just be walking along and all the sudden some idot just drops out of no where, unleashes a wild spray and I'm dead in half a second. Some of the multiplayer levels were good....but would have only been done justice if they were in Halo 1. The sniping and just aiming in general was cheased....just fire anything in the general direction of your target and they die. This can actually be viewed in slow motion, it's pretty painful to watch the dumbing down of it all. Then the useless shotgun....just boggles my mind. It's like 2552-ish?....Shotguns today are more capable than even the shotgun of Halo 1!

Halo 3 was better but not much. It was still the same old crap they changed in Halo 2. No health, fast shield regeneration, still increased auto-aim and hitboxes, still either effortless long range combat or braindead spray n' pray close range.... Just general crap that get's frustrating and boring very fast. Basically, whoever get's shot first is going to die in just about every situtation. Then the 'diving' melee's and....yeah just all very lame. I couldn't play it more than a month or two after release date and I haven't touched it since.

Halo 1 was almost perfect except for a few things. That *beep* overpowered pistol being number one. It got really really lame just having the same 'pop-pop-pop-pop-pop-pop-pop-pop-pop-pop-pop-pop-pop-pop-pop-pop-pop-pop' pistol crap going on and th fact it's the easiest gun to aim and fasted to kill makes it almost impossible to defeat on most levels with any sort of range warfare. We were able to get around this by simply taking sniping off but then we had to sacrifice the sniper rifle which was sad....but gameplay was always so much more intense. Then radar. I absolutley can't stand games with a constant radar. It totally dilutes and sort of suspense of not knowing everything. So whenever I played Halo 1, it was always off. Halo 2 and 3....they just insisted on making it an ingrained part of the game which was really lame and annoying to deal with for me in the first place. Like sure I can crouch to avoid it but a lot of good that does me when I've just jacked the flag and am now booking it away....only to have everyone be able to follow me....with my slowed walking pace....for some reason.... Another thing I never played with in Halo 1....senseless hanicaps for flag carriers or odd-ball games or anything.

Hands down halo 1 rules them all. Even the multiplayer was just amazing. And why did they redo blood gulch :( bring back the original please, best map ever. Halo 3's multiplayer was great but i think the maps are pretty poor. They need to bring back a few of the halo 1 maps and few from halo 2. I forgot the name but I loved the city map, you know the one that had those 2 giant elephant doors people would love to always run thru with a wathog and get splatter kills lol.

Halo 1. It had the best campaign and its multiplayer maps were better than Halo 2's.

Halo 2 had a better story (got a chance to see the other side--Arbiter) and better graphics. Halo CE to me has a better and intense game play. I found the aliens freakier and more intense in CE, especially the Flood. When you shoot a combat form, it comes back up and charges! Not so much in Halo 2.

Halo 1 is one of the best first person shooters of all time. It's the best. The 2nd was kinda disappointing. And even Halo 3, Halo 4, etc, is not as amazing as the original.
