These movies were the shit back in the early 00s.

Imho part 1 is better but I like the highway sequence in part 2.
Part 2. I lean towards 2 or 3 being the best in the franchise.
The first three are all great, four was stupid and definitely the worst of the franchise, five was good. Looking forward to part six whenever that gets made (probably gonna be a 2025 release now given the writers strike halting everything.)
Highway sequence is probably the best sequence in the entire franchise. Everyone who has seen this movie remembers that opening. It still holds up very well. Lots of cars crashing and flipping over. If it was made today I reckon those would be CGI and not actual stunts, especially in a 'low budget' horror flick. You may still get stunts like that in a Tom Cruise movie or mega blockbuster Fast and Furious.
